Precautions

  1. Weld the lead tube under the specified conditions, do not apply external force after welding;
  2. Please pay attention to protect the receiving surface of the infrared receiver. If it is stained or worn, it will affect the receiving effect;

Application (mainly for remote control)

  • Audiovisual equipment (audio, TV, wireless microphone)
  • Household appliances (air conditioning, electric fans, lighting)

  • Other infrared products such as electronic toy remote control, infrared camera, infrared alarm, infrared temperature measurement.
  • Suitable for players' own DIY products for simple communication and short-distance remote control.

The receivers work properly, and there are arduino libraries that make using these to pick up and decode a remote control for a project trivial.

All items arrived undamaged and well packaged. Slightly overpriced. Great for DIY projects.

I used the IR receivers in this kit with IR transmitters from different manufacturers. It all worked beautifully. The best part is there is a lot of circuit support in public domain to help you design your system. Simply perform a search for TL1838 for the IR receiver (this is also etched to the back of each receiver) I was able to get the IR receiver to work with Arduino, and this set up now allows me to use any cheap IR remote control to control systems I design. Great little product that makes life easy for me.

Received part today and soldered into main board. Plugged in projector and pressed on button on remote and projector fired right up!!! Great deal!

Does what it says, even if a bit overpriced vs wholesale. You get some receivers and some IR LEDs. I used them to create an IR remote.

Got them to use the receivers in my WLED projects. They did exactly what they were supposed to do. I didn't test every single one in the package, but the ones I did use worked

When I built the circuit to test the IR receiver. I got different readings with each press of the button. The first 3 I tested, one of them shorted and would not light up the LED. The other two did not work right from the start. The LED that was used to indicate received signal kept staying on. I did not change the circuit and the voltage was the same at 5v for all 3 of them. I suggest you find someone else to buy these from. This is made my a chines company and the data sheet for them is impossible to read and the product is cheaply made all around. If you want to know the data and the pin output. The IR Receiver part number is VS1838B.NOTE: The one that was shorted, I discovered that the the ground pin which is connected to the metal encasing was also connected to Vcc pin. Seems like a manufacturer defect. Make sure you check that your pins are not shorted by the manufacturer.

The IR received is probably OK for remote controls but DO NOT use it for simple detection for anything going across an IR beam. This is because the detector only responds to pulses of IR light where the IR light is modulated at 38 KHz, and the pulse is only about 500 uS long. If the IR beam is from a IR LED using DC power, or the IR beam is on for longer than a few milliseconds, the detector will not turn on.
