This AC adapter port was easy to swap out with the original hardware in my Dell Inspiron laptop. It is completely compatible with the computer and with the original charging cord. I was initially slightly concerned about not finding an original Dell part, but this functions exactly as the original. Power is consistent and it does not get hot or anything. This port allowed me to keep a laptop that was only about a year old going after the original port was damaged and saved quite a bit of money over paying for factory repairs or replacing the computer. It was a fast and easy and inexpensive do-it-yourself fix!

I wanted to buy two of these to keep one in stock. The first one I tried to put in was too short only about 2 mm as you see in the picture I tried the second one and it’s the identical length no matter how hard you try you won’t make it fit. The second picture shows the correct Cable length.

I used this to repair an HP laptop that wasn't charging well. Before the repair, we had to keep wiggling the connector to make it charge. After replacing the plug, we just plug it in and it charges like it's supposed to. The replacement part appears to be identical to the original.
