I had a hard time opening the back hatch on my Chevrolet Equinox. After installing this device it seemed to work like brand new again. I would buy this part again.

Installed in a 2012 Equinox - tailgate switch was not functioning consistently. This replacement installed fairly easily - it replaces the old rubber switch so it looks different, but you dont need any additional bezel or anything with this part #. To install it, you must remove the interior trim panel first. Note there is a screw in the handle area of the interior trim panel, pry the plastic cover off and you'll see the screw hiding under there. Once the interior panel is off you must remove the plastic panel on the outside of the tailgate that houses this switch assembly. The panel is held on with some nuts and some plastic retainers which are both accessed from the inside of the tailgate(ie the trim panel side). Remove the nuts first - each will have a access hole in the tailgate structure to get at them. Then I Used a 7mm socket to compress the plastic tabs on the plastic retainers - push the 7mm socket over the plastic tabs and it will compress the ears enough to make removal easy (easier than trying to get a pliers in there etc). The actual switch just pops out of that plastic panel on the tail gate and the new one pops in.

Se lo puse a una equinox 2011 , le quedó a la perfección y sobre todo el precio de lujo, cotice uno en mercado libre y estaba 3 veces más caro y se miraba de menor calidad
