pull a SINGLE strand of wire or twine taped to the old one when you pull it out. Tape the new one to that wire or twine to pull it back through or it’s going to be a nightmare. Because there’s a 90° corner in the pipe at the end where it comes out behind the control board.

First, the company sent the wrong igniter type. After I called and they verified they did not send what I had ordered they sent the correct one. But, they didn’t provide a postage paid return label, and charged me for both.The correct part installed easily and worked for about 2 months (used it less than 10 times). Now, the grill doesn’t light again - doing exactly what it did before I bought this part.Save your money here and buy the OEM version directly from GMG.

This was just what I needed after I incorrectly ordered an ignitor for a non-PRIME GMC grill.Also, note that the ignitor listing looked to me to be for a newer ceramic model, but was actually the older metal ignitor, which I prefer. My previous ignitor was ceramic and lasted about a year. They may be a little faster (although hard to tell), but I suspect they may also be more fragile making cleaning the firebox more difficult.Despite these cautions, I am back in business. You can light a GMG grill using a propane torch (see owner's manual or GMG sight or youtube), but it's a pain compared to a properly working ignitor.

A year or so ago my GMG Jim Bowie 12v grill igniter stopped working. I contacted GMG and thy sent me a replacement igniter which I was able to install relatively easily. That one worked for about 1 year and I decided to try the one I found here on Amazon. This was one delivered quickly and thanks to my previous experience in installing the igniter I had this installed pretty quickly.It worked right off the bat and I ran a couple of test startups to make sure it would continue to work. So far I am not having any issues with it. Will see if it lasts longer then the igniter that GMG sent me.But works great so far!
