All saddle blanks are uniformly the same size and perfectly straight. A luthier friend saw my purchase and said reverentially, "These are nice." Individual blanks work out to be about $3.33, which is far cheaper than StewMac per piece, and, buying through Amazon saved me the cost of shipping as well. You may not need a full 1/4 inch width, but find out if Golden Gate has the saddle width you require.

Nicely machined and uniform from piece to piece. Good quality material. They measure 3/32" thick. Unfortunately they are a couple of thousandths too thin for the saddle slots produced by my 3/32" spiral downcut router bit. The fit is just a bit too loose to be acceptable. I will try another bit before giving up on these blanks, but at the moment I wish I hadn't bought them. It would be nice if they were sized to allow for final sanding to a snug fit.Update: After swapping router bits and making a new slotting jig, these blanks fit acceptably well in my saddle slots. I upped the rating to 4 stars. It is certainly convenient to just pull a blank out of the parts drawer and not have to do major machining on it. I still think the blanks should be a hair thicker so they could be sanded to a final fit.

These are rough cut bone so you will need to sand any surface you are not filing away (appropriate for the price), but good price for the size. I would purchase again.

The Golden Gate F-3403 are supposed to be 3 1/4 inch x 15/32 inch x 1/4 inch. Unuckily what I received is more like 3 1/4 x 1/3 x 1/8. They are packaged and labeled as F-3403. So something is wrong here.

Good quality blanks. All measured right at 3/32" making the fitting process even faster for my vintage style Martin.

Incredibly hard bone. Be prepared to use a lot of elbow grease in getting it shaped! :-)

I was able to do all the shaping with my belt sander. I was having a hard time finding something wide enough for my guitar.Guitar sounds a little brighter
