It is hard to tell from the pic, but the clips I received look much thinner than the ones shown. I am only using them to hold rope lights to the top of my deck, so not hanging, simply holding them in place on a horizontal surface. Will see how well they weather a MN winter. I'm skeptical. Functionally they do the trick so far. But I was hoping for something a little thicker like what the pic appears to be. These are a very thin, translucent plastic. They fit good, and are easy to work with. But when screwing to a wood surface, you have to go slow at the end and just snug them up, or they clips twist very easily. For the price they are great. If I was using these to hang lights on a vertical surface, or underneath a horizontal surface where they had to hold the weight of the rope light, I would have opted for something thicker.

I had really high hopes that these would be perfect to hang some rope lights....the screw is way too small to get a hole started. So we did a few starter holes but still such a tiny screw!!
