HOW TO USE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID PUMP?

Step 1
Fill the tank with fresh fluid through the inlet and tighten the filler cap.

Step 2
Attach the compatible adapter and connect the hose.

Step 3
After draining the waste oil, Insert the adapter into the gearbox opening.

Step 4
Manually pressurize the filling pump to allow new oil to flow automatically into the transmission.

Step 5
When complete, pressing the pressure release valve to release pressure.Remove the adapter and restore the transmission cover.

It worked fine, but it’s not 3l and more like 2.6 ish so be careful when filling.

I do pretty much all of my vehicle maintenance and am always looking for tools that simplify the work. One area I have struggled with is filling differentials, transmissions and transfer cases with lubricants. There isn’t sufficient space to get the lube bottles above the fill holes. I have tried cheap bottle mounted syringe type pumps with mixed results which, while usable, leave a lot to be desired. I have looked at compressed air type units but couldn’t justify the cost. This product splits the difference nicely. It is well made of high-quality materials and includes a wide assortment of adaptors for filling. I appreciate details like a pressure gauge and the ball valve on the output hose. The three liter capacity is enough to fill most parts and it’s simple enough to use that it’s no big deal if it takes two fills to do the job. I look forward to using this for my next fluid changes.

This appears to be very similar to other models available but at a more reasonable price. I have tested it and it works perfectly. Will plan to use it fill the transmission fluid on my Nissan Armada in the spring. The hose is high quality silicone or rubber, very soft and flexible. The container is strong, thick and well built. The adapters appear to be aluminum and have clean threads. It does not hold enough fluid for my transmission but it will not be difficult to fill in 2 batches. I like the compact size, won't take up too much space in the garage. I plan to try to make it work for differentials and hopefully outboard motor lower units as well. I will update with any issues.

This kit comes with transmission adapters for those special situations where you DON'T get a fill port on the vehicle. However, that's NOT the only reason to buy one of these! These work great for putting trans fluid even into a car that has a normal dipstick tube too! Why struggle with a funnel that has a TEENY TINY tip on it, slowly filling fluid at some crazy angle that's right on the brink of dumping fluid all over your engine? Just fill this thing up, pump it up, stuff the tube down the dipstick tube and let her rip! It made filling my XJ trans fluid a breeze! They also work awesome on those transverse transmissions (FWD) that have the fill port behind the inner fender liner! You dont have to use an awkward funnel or hand syringe style pump in an odd angle! This makes it quicker and easier.You can tell they put some thought into the design too because the pickup tube in the tank actually goes into one of the protruding "feet" at the bottom of the tank. This helps make sure you get ALL the fluid you put int the tank OUT of it!The ONLY issue i have, which cost it 1 star...When I was testing the fluid pump it started leaking fluid out of where the hose connects to the on/off valve. When i took it apart you could see they DID use a thread locking compound or some sort of hardening pipe dope. However there wasn't enough and it was leaking right through the threads. I had to clean out the hardened thread sealer they used and ad a bunch of wraps of teflon tape. The thread they chose wasn't NPT so it didn't get tighter fitting as I tightened it down though so i had to use a pretty significant amount of teflon tape to stop the leak. If i had a thread locker it would have been better, i could have doused it in it but I needed the tool asap and couldn't wait for a thread locker to cure.All in all it works great though. I wish there was more throw to the hand pump so it could build pressure faster but, for a small compact unit, i can't complain!!
