I've only used it once so far on a bottle of wine (that tasted like straight up vinegar), made getting the cork out very easy.

After our last corkscrew fell apart, I went looking for a new one. This GoodCook Gourmet Deluxe Winged corkscrew had a similar design, so we gave it a try. We're not big drinkers, but do open the occasional bottle of wine, and it's worked smoothly and seamlessly, even for the smallest adult in our family who has had issues with other cork removal tools where more leverage or different angles are needed.I'm not quite clear what all the materials are holding it together (I admit I was concerned if some might be plastic when we first received it), but so far it's done its job. I will update if it gives up in an unreasonable amount of time (I'm pretty sure our last one lasted about 20 years, so it's got some tough competition!).

High quality, heavy duty corkscrew. I've been using a small portable one from the wine store for the past few years. Swapping to this corkscrew has been such a big change, it's much easier to use and much easier on the hands. Now I look like a functional adult with a proper corkscrew.

This review is for the GoodCook Gourmet Deluxe Winged Corkscrew. We drink wine often and needed a good corkscrew. This one looked like it was of good quality. I didn’t want to get a cheap one like the one I currently have. I wanted a sturdy and well-made wine opener. This corkscrew feels sturdy and well made. The wine corkscrew, however, is not the best. I took some photos of my old wine corkscrew to demonstrate the issue with it. The helix (the metal spiral component of a corkscrew wine opener) is not as long as it should be, which caused the cork to break while it was still in the neck of the wine bottle. After using it a couple of times, my husband reverted back to using the old one. On a positive note, the can opener part works well and removes beer bottle tops without much effort.Overall, I’m not pleased with this corkscrew wine opener and do not recommend it.

This is a very nice, well made, winged corkscrew. It is a bit more robust than other winged models. It's appearance is also appealing. More importantly, it removes the corks from wine bottles with little or no effort. That said, I am unconvinced that the price of this corkscrew is justified. I don't think it is worth twice as much as other winged corkscrews.

Totally not what i expected, this is a really heavy duty corkscrew with incredibly smooth action.First, this has solid metal components with quite some weight to it, the housing is plastic which i hoped would be metal.Functionally, the screw screws in straight with a "fine" thread screw, compared to cheap "coarse" thread screws which tend to torque to the side and are hard to get to go in straight. The screws is also thinner gauge than the cheapers one so the screw does not split the cork. Huge plus here!!!Body is a smooth plastic and id sit very well on the bottle. The mechanical arms and draw systems are thick low couth teeth which have the smoothest actuation i've felt in a long time. The action draws the cork from the bottle effortlessly.Overall, i am absolutely pleased with this 5 star product!!! it is as good as my 40yr old corkscrew, i guess the CAN make them like they used to!

This cork puller is the classic wing style, and when I needed one for the camping kit this one was a solid choice. I've put it through its paces on both traditional and synthetic style corks and it runs in smoothly and has an easy pull with both. The action on the wings is easy, with no grinding or catching from the gears, so I expect this will last for a long time. Using this is definitely much easier than a basic twist and pull and this style doesn't require any of the brute force either.
