I bought this 5 years ago, and it's still working great! It's a simple but awesome tool. I really appreciate how easy it makes pulling out the filter basket. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a new one if my current one broke, but it's still as sturdy as ever.

I was tired of trying to fish out the skimmer basket not knowing what lurked beneath the leaves. Snakes, spiders, bees … I have had them in the basket, creepy. I was tired of having to lie on my belly to get the skimmer basket out to clean it. I ordered the Skimmer Angel. It came with two screws to attach the handle to the skimmer basket bottom. It was a quick install using a screw driver. Before the skimmer angel I had to turn off the pump to fish out the basket. Now I can pull the basket out even when the pump is running, empty it, and put it back easily. I have had no problem with critters on the handle as in other reviews. I have had it for months and love it! The basket does not float up anymore so just enough weight to keep the basket in place. The handle sits below the skimmer basket lid.

A simple but well designed and quality product with multiple benefits.First off, it's super simple to install. Just remove your skimmer basket from skimmer. In most cases, the manufacturers poorly designed handle has already fallen off but if not, remove it. Attach the new handle with 2 included phillips head screws. You're done!* Now, you have a handle that stands up above the waterline so you don't have to dip your hands into freezing water during winter months!* You don't have to bend down as low to get to the basket.* Handle provides much better leverage for pulling out heavy contents or against filter suction.* Keeps your hands away from the any "surprise guests" such as spiders, frogs, lizards, etc, etc.Well worth the price and I highly recommend this item.

This thing is AWESOME!! No longer do I have to lay on my stomach to get the skimmer basket out!! My hand doesn’t even touch the water! Wish I would’ve known about this little gem earlier!!!

PROS: Attaches easily to skimmer basket. Nice length of handle that makes it easier to pull skimmer basket out to clean without having to get down on your hands and knees.CONS: You can't use vacuum and/or skimmer sock while it is attached and it has to be unscrewed to remove.

Simple, clever, and so helpful! Never loved sticking my forearm down into the mix of leaves, bugs, and who-knows-what (central Texas, home of critters!) to pull out the skimmer basket. This makes it so much easier, cleaner, and not quite as exciting ("is that hornet really dead?") as before.

With an in-ground pool in the deep country, we never know WHAT or HOW MANY of WHAT will be in the skimmer. This helps to get past the bugs and critters in the skimmer that felt they needed a dreadful swim overnight... UGH! Poor things... Anyway, I will never, ever be without one of these EVER again on my skimmer basket, and have an extra if the one on the basket should ever break, or the basket should fail. Strongly recommend having this to lift the skimmer basket daily!
