The GQ GMC-320S digital Geiger counter is the latest general purpose Geiger Counter. It is meticulously designed, developed, and finally assembled in Seattle, USA. It is an enhanced version of GMC-320 Plus, it has higher sensitivity to facilitate a lower level radiation detection. It also has temperature sensor and electronic gyroscope, LCD contrast control, front LED indicator, analog data port output, new graphic Type. This product can be used for industrial, commercial or Test equipment, such as universities, laboratories, environment evaluation measurement, hospital research, scientific analytical applications, antique evaluation, building material testing research and so on. It is able to continually monitor the radiation and log the data each second into internal memory. With excellent accuracy, sensitivity, and ease of calibration, this meter delivers fast results within seconds, enabling prompt actions during hazardous situations. When connected to a PC, GQ software can download the radiation history data to the computer and the user is able to analyze those data later. The internal battery can be charged via USB cable.

Easy to Use: To initiate the device, simply press and hold the power-on button for a few seconds, and the screen will instantly display the radiation level. You can switch between different measurement units such as CPM, uSv/h, mR/h, and more by using the up/down key. The main menu offers a range of options, including factory reset, alarm volume control, alarm threshold setting, large font mode for enhanced readability, graphic mode, text mode, graph type selection, graphic zoom functionality, and a swivel display feature for added convenience.

Data Handling: The device offers real-time data logging capabilities, allowing you to save data at intervals of every second, minute, or hour in the unit's onboard memory. It supports data upload to global data sharing platforms. The data recording capability extends up to an impressive 50 years, ensuring long-term storage and analysis. The unit can function as a radiation monitor at a fixed location, enabling you to track radiation changes over time. For continuous monitoring and synchronization, you can connect the device to a PC using the supplied cable, facilitating data transfer and analysis.

The GMC 320s works, is accurate ! it has a high voltage detector tube (muller tube) inside. so it's sensitivity to low level radiation is good. i tested it using an old smoke detector that contained 1.0 microcurie of Americium 241 radioactive material. i removed the metal lid and the readings went from 15-20 CPM normal back ground to over 200 CPM in less than 90 seconds. the alarm sounded at 100 CPM i closed the lid and readings went back to normal. yea it works ! Good Deal i use to test my food, water, air, garden soil or any thing that is suspect, ( Radioactive ) it has rechargeable battery that lasts a long time. Great ! i can recommend to buy GMC 320s. very happy thanks. 5 Stars

I got this Geiger counter because it's better at detecting beta radiation. That is useful if you want to hunt for uranium glassware. You should be aware that no Geiger counter at this price point is ever going to give you an accurate dose.In the attached pictures you can see the GMC-320S next to an uranium sample, alongside a budget scintillator (the inaccurately named "Better Geiger") which should be giving a more accurate dose. The GMC-320S overestimates the dose, and that is normal for a budget Geiger tube. The other thing you should notice from these photos is how the estimated dose changes by a factor of 2 depending on which side the sample is on. This is precisely why I bought this product. The GM tube is at the bottom of the device. I made an effort to put the uranium sample at the same distance to the tube in both photos. So the difference is in one photo the radiation has to go through the device and in the other photo it doesn't. Gamma radiation should have no trouble going through the device, but beta radiation is easily blocked by the plastic casing. The bottom of the device, where the tube is, has holes in the casing, which make it easier for beta particles to reach the GM tube. This makes the GMC-320S more sensitive to beta than other similarly priced products. In summary:1. If your goal is to measure an accurate dose because you are worried about radiation, there is nothing at this price level that will meet that need. You need to spend $150 - $400 to get even the cheapest scintillators (the BetterGeiger and the Radiacode-102 respectively).2. If your goal is to get a fairly sensitive device for a budget price that will help you find uranium glass in a thrift store, or will help you find slightly radioactive rocks in the wild, the GMC-320S is possibly the best option for this price point.

It genuinely works! GQ, you are an AMAZING company! It's super lightweight, it's actually accurate, well, until you get to more than 1MIL CPM. Then it kinda gets all wonky and messes up. But, this is actually a good beginner Geiger counter if your brand new! I went to an antique shop and I found a radium watch with 150k CPM! Overall, 5 stars, no regrets. Interface is also great.

As a follow up for a procedure, I had to undergo a radiation treatment with Iodine 131. It’s given as a pill and the radiologist brings it into the room in a lead lined container.Being the geek that I am, I got this geiger counter a while before the procedure. Background radiation was around 20 CPM before the radiation, after the pill, I could set the unit off ( it alarms at over 100 CPM) from across the room. In close proximity the counts were in the millions and it took about a month before the number came down to normal levels. My wife used it to check my clothes and the bed linen that I used. The unit itself is well built with a real geiger tube and high voltage supply. The display is a graphic LCD that displays the data as either numbers, a bar graph or line graph. The battery is rechargeable via a USB port and is a common lithium cell that is easy to replace via a battery door. There is software that can be downloaded to view the data but I didn’t bother with that.Without another calibrated meter to compare this too, I can’t say how accurate it is, but the background radiation was right where the manufacturer predicted it would be.

This is a good geiger counter. Placing it next to a radioactive source triggers it, therefore I know that it works. And the background reading seems to be close to the value of nearby professional detectors, thus it was calibrated well from the factory. Also very easy to connect to the PC and transfer the recorded data

Setup for this was a bit complicated. The display and software is outdated. It is difficult to scroll through all the setup lines if you want to customize the operation. Once you are launched, the Geiger counter works and seems to be accurate but at this time if you intend to upload data to the world map, it does not work. It should only be used as a Geiger counter and/or dosimeter. It would be cool to upload data to the map, but its not working and even the forum is outdated.

Easy to use. No way for a non-expert to know precisely how accurate it is, but I assume it's doing a reasonable job.
