How it works
Get The Grill Hot - to start the grooving process, ensure your grill is hot (high heat allows the grooves to form quickly).
Work Back and Forth - Using slow firm pressure, pass the Great Scrape front to back on the hot grates.
Repeat - align the previously formed grooves to the grates ensuring that only ONE good set of grooves are formed. Once grooves have formed high heat is no longer necessary.

I owned one of these previously and gave it away with the grill, which was kinda dumb because I bought a new grill and had to buy another scraper. I love these because they are easy and effective and don’t leave behind bristles that can get on your food. These bristles can be dangerous. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen and with a wooden scraper that works just as good, why take the chance!?

I was tired of the wire brushes getting all clogged up with sauce and then in the summer months, the goo dripping from them as they hung from by BBQ. This has been good so far in easily being able to clean it off after scraping/cleaning the grate. Does it clean just as good as the wire one, not yet, but it does a good enough job and I dont have to worry about the drips/mess, so win in my book. As I get the notches/grooves deeper and more burnt in, im sure it will only get better.

Works well to clean my stainless steel grid of my gas grill. Not the same cleaning power as a steel brush, but good enough and less risk of steel bristles in your grilled foods... I got the smallest version of the three sizes of scrapes and I am glad I did, more than big enough to clean my three burner grill in a quick minute.

Last summer a friend of mine was telling me about the dangers of using a wire bristle brush for cleaning grill grates. I laughed and told him that mine worked fine and I had never heard of anyone finding a wire in their food. Sure enough, no more than a month later, I took a bite of hot dog at a friend's 4th of July barbecue and felt something stab the roof of my mouth. I immediately spit it out and found a shiny metal brush bristle embedded in the ball of chewed food. Needless to say, I went and apologized to my friend for dismissing his prescient warning!When grill season came around this year, I made sure to throw away my old grill brush and replace it with a Great Scrape. I don't want to risk serving my children food potentially laced with sharp little needles shed by my old brush! I found it quite easy to start the groove pattern on the wooden scraper, and it did a great job of clearing the grates of last year's BBQ remnants. Great product that I would recommend to anyone who owns a grill and doesn't want a perforated mouth!

Husband loves his so much, he bought another one for camping. We'll never go back to wire cleaners. The brush type are dangerous and the ones with rolls of wire are hard to clean. This is the perfect solution. Plus it fits inside our little camping bbq and actually works great!
