Greenlee's quick change stainless steel hole cutters cut stainless steel quickly and easily. The quick change arbor allows you to change cutter heads with a simple push and a turn. Uses the same arbor for different size cutting heads. Removable cutter heads are available in sizes from 5/8-Inch through 3-Inch. Flange stop prevents over-drilling. Ejector spring on all sizes above 3/4-Inch makes removal of slug easier. Replaceable, cobalt-steel pilot drill with split-point tip to prevent walking. Precision carbide teeth for optimum performance and durability. Minimum chuck size of 3/8-Inch.

I used this cutter to drill some holes in an automobile frame. I drilled them into the underside where the frame is double thickness (a boxed frame). Its almost 1/2 inch thick. Worked very well, but I went through 3 pilot bits. I recommend drilling a pilot with a 1/4 bit, then using the pilot to only center the cutter. The temptation is to cut with the pilot, because its a very hard bit that cuts well. However, it can't handle any bending whatsoever.

We were having excessive hours when we began using stainless steel electrical enclosures instead of carbon steel. The cost of those hours was really adding up. Switching to this hole cutter is saving a lot of time. And each one will do hundreds of holes through stainless steel. Shop around on Amazon for the best price as I found quite a variation.

Best carbide cutter on the market and makes the right size hole unlike Klein, I recommend low rpm and cutting oil to prolong the life of the carbides because they do chip overtime but even when it's chipped it still works pretty good.

These work way better than step bits and will work on Stainless. Be sure to go slow and use cutting oil
