I purchased this to help make my grip even stronger. it is adjustable from 200KG and down. I like to use it at almost full strength.

Conceptually an adjustable gripper is a great idea. Owning a whole set is annoying, and you can get stuck in between different grippers in a set when trying to progressively overload. But there are a few serious problems with this item you should be aware of in deciding whether to purchase:1. The lowest setting is FAR above 5 kg / 11 lbs, as claimed in the item description. I would say its AT LEAST 45 kg / 100 lbs. That may not be a dealbreaker for most healthy adults, but if the gripper is for a child or someone rehabbing a hand injury, they might not be able to close it on even the lightest setting.2. There's really no way to even roughly measure what setting you have it on, which makes progressive overload quite difficult. To try and solve this, I marked the dial with a sticker and try to count how many twists I am on, but its clunky. Having some indicator what strength setting this is on would be WAY more useful than the built-in rep counter they included in the handle.3. The rep counter is kind of a neat idea, I guess, but is clunky to reset. I usually ignore it because its easier to just count the reps myself rather than reset it.I bought this item because I was having a tough time making the jump from a 150 lb gripper to a 200 lb gripper, and it did help me with that, so I guess it served its purpose. But make sure it will work for what you need it for.

I like the tension adjustment on this but gee's, even at its lowest setting it takes a strong hand to work out with this unless I just have real weak hands. Or at least that is how it makes me feel. You will get a good hand work out with these. You just have to find your sweet spot setting and stay with it. It has a very neat looking design, but I don't think it is a one size fits all hands unit. Everyone’s hands are different and from small to real big. So that may be the deal keeper or deal breaker when it comes to this little device and you. I'm 6'2" with XL glove size and it fits. Don't know what a real smaller person would think about this but would be interesting to find out. Either way, it is well made of good materials and should last in your work out room a very long time.

Not 5 kg to 100 kg! That is a joke. At 5 kg minimum setting it is nearly impossible to compress the spring. I have other hand compression devices that are 100 pounds to 300 pounds. This device at 5 kg is stiffer than the 100 pound devices. It may be used with both hands as a chect compression device but certainly not a hand grip device!

I had a really bad injury with my dominant hand and never regained my grip strength. After using this extensively for some workouts, I can tell this is going to help me in the long term. There are some features on this that make it better than a simple spring with grips. First, you have a rep counter that forces you to do full grip compressions for them to count. Second, the adjustable tensile strength adjustment is like having multiple grip strengtheners in one. Third, the knuckle guard help to keep this from slipping out of your hand under compression. As for the durability and construction, I give it a solid A-. I think the rep counter is a point of failure, even though it works flawlessly right now, I can see the internal gears or turnstile breaking after a few years of use. The whole thing certainly feels like it's made with some durability, that's just the only weak point I could identify.

This grip strength trainer is great! I will need to use it a lot because it is hard for me to use even at the lowest setting.
