So, they work, really well. They're sturdy grommets and the back isn't perfectly solid like the front, but it's smooth which is more than good enough for me. However, there's no instructions so it's trial and error for first time users. So, when you're setting the grommet you load it in facing up, so the back end that gets curled over and the washer are against the big flat part of the hammer set. You also want to make sure to use the provided tool set and keep the spindle in the opening because it will collapse in on itself.

I was pleased with the quality and quantity of this kit. It was a great way to fill my eyelet needs. I was rather disappointed that they don't have rose gold eyelets (so I ordered some separately), but other than that I was quite happy. They're easy enough to use without needing directions (which is good because I don't think they came with any) but I don't know a lot about these kinds of things to be able to rate the sturdiness.

The do work mostly but the setting tool is rubbish and they don’t have clean backs. The metal likes to split leaving sharp edges on the inside of the garment
