The Size 12 Goldenedge Professional-grade Watercolor Filbert brush includes a Golden Toray filament and short handle with a secure, gold-plated brass ferrule. Soft bristles are perfect for blending, washes, and delicate details. Filberts are a perfect compromise between rounds and flats. They are shaped like a flat with a curved end allowing for more flexibility than a flat. The side can be used like a round and the broad side like a flat. The Filbert brush was invented by the Impressionists in order to have the feeling of a worn in flat with maximum flexibility, and it has become a favorite of painters everywhere. Since 1905, Grumbacher has been a brand trusted by students, professors, art conservationists, and professional artists throughout the United States.

I really like this brush for applying gel nails. It holds the product very well and application is so easy and simple. I would buy again. I actually have 4 brushes in 3 different sizes, this is how much I like this brush. I have a #2, #6, and two #4.

A nicely built brush that works well. I give it 4 stars because even for a synthetic it really doesn’t hold much paint. I have other brands in a similar size that hold noticeably more. Other than that it’s a good brush. If I need another this size I’ll probably go with a slightly more expensive Escoda synthetic.

I already liked this brand's round watercolor brushes because they retain their original shape over time. I recently purchased this brush to use with florals, and the shape is perfect for making petals. The angle you hold the brush changes the shape of the petal and allows for a lot of variety without having to switch brushes when you have the right color already. I'm very much an amateur, but presumably amateurs are more likely to read reviews than a professional :-)

Great brushes. I've been aware of the quality of the Grumbacher brand for years, but didn't know their products were U.S. made until today. To me, that's an additional, very powerful reason to purchase them!
