Over time the plastic clips become weak and break. This is a direct replacement. No need to remove the angle face plate on BBQ. Easy to install with two spade clips for connection. Needle nose pliers to get spade clips off. Once old one is removed just push this new part into place, it will snap into the tray. Connect the two wires doesn't matter what one goes on to the igniter switch as the are bi- directional. As long as both are hooked up it will work. Fast maybe 15 minutes to remove and replace. Direct fit for the G4 gas grill.

Well we liked it because it was cheap and it worked for a month but it broke today 4 days after the return window. Easy to install it fit and looked just like the part we had to replace.

Great replacement for a bad igniter

This looks exactly like my Genesis II special edition push button igniter. I had to remove the far left and right screws to the slanted control panel in order to remove the old push button igniter but had to first remove the gas knobs which just pull straight out. I used the edge of a regular screw driver for leverage to pull out the knobs. Once the panel is removed and the back of the igniter assembly accessible, use a needle nose plier to squeeze in the tabs so the assembly pops out. Then move the wires and to the new button assembly and insert thru the back. Then screw on the top of push button on the outside. Finally, mount the panel back on the grill and push the gas knobs back on. Took me about 15 min. Works with little effort like when new. Should have replaced a year ago when started pushing the button various ways to get igniter to spark. Grill is about 6 yrs old. See pics.
