Fisrst, let me say that I was skeptical purchasing this after reading other reviews and also being higher priced than others. I also had to return the first one sent to me, it worked enough to try, but did not work correctly. So I thought I would like it if they sent another that worked properly. I received a new one, and I was correct, works excellent. We had tried 4 different models of card shufflers and this one worked the best by far. Some quirks, as all the shufflers we tried had, but this did the best shuffling the cards well, without jamming or flipping cards, and is quieter than others. Best yet no batteries needed. The batteries in battery operated shufflers we tried, did not last long. The one we tried, we had to change batteries about every 7 games or 140 shuffles. So this does not have that expense. So after 3 weeks of use, 30 plus games, or 600 plus shuffles, very pleased.

We have a Canasta card group that meets monthly for dinner and games, rotating who hosts each month. We typically have 20 players, usually playing 4 players per table as 2 teams . A canasta game is played in three hands. I coordinate the group and supply the shufflers and cards. Our version of Canasta is played with 3 decks, so we use four deck shufflers. We find that it takes four shuffles to completely randomize the cards. It would take forever to randomize the cards by hand shuffling. The shufflers get a lot of use. They work wonderfully well when new and using new cards. As cards get bent and wear, batteries discharge, and shufflers wear, they can begin to miss-shuffle, usually after 2 - 3 years of heavy usage, at which point we replace them. By then, each shuffler has shuffled at least 1,000 decks of 54 cards We used to buy them a dozen at a time at the Mesa, Arizona, Swap Meet for $8 each. Now we buy them at Amazon.com for about twice that. Still inexpensive for their contribution to the fun times.

Right out of box, it worked. So, I put it aside, then one week later, on day of card party, plugged it in and the D****d thing would not even turn on. Light in the wall plug was on, properly connected to device and it just sat there like bad cabbage. I wasted a good hour trying to get it to work. Plastic cards, then paper, 2 decks, 6 decks, it did not matter. It's junk and I am returning for a refund. I will invest in the much more expensive, but hopefully, reliable, electric shuffler by a different manufacturer. I've wasted so much money on shufflers, batteries, different makers. The bottom line is no company has yet found a way to make reliable shufflers. The $200 bucks I'm paying for completely different shuffler type is only a fraction of what I've spent for junk and batteries thus far. Search for price high to low and the one I'm now investing in is right at the top.

Really loved the machine. It was our third try to find a good one. It was fast and didn’t jamm (sc) until it stopped working. The wheels couldn’t shuffle the cards anymore after 5 months of almost daily home use. We even took it on our travels with us. Need to find a commercial heavy duty model that can handle 6 decks of cards.

This card shuffler is great for large decks of cards like 5 Crowns, and shuffles fast.The only problem that we found was with the AC power adapter, which we liked, because it negated the need for batteries. However, it stopped working within five weeks of using it. Upon checking it with a voltmeter, I found that the unit had shorted out. So, no voltage is getting to the small, DC plug. So, we now use the shuffler on battery mode, which, so far, has been working very well and shuffles just as fast as when we used the AC power adapter.

I don’t have to buy batteries for this shuffler and this one is much faster than the battery-operated ones that are almost the same price.
