This tip is probably the one everyone recommends for smd work. In my opinion you need to get used to this tip a good while before you really learn how to use it. Angle makes it tricky for basic soldering and you keep trying to move around too much. The smaller the tip the less watt heat you get so you need to raise the heat up. You need a smaller gauge solder to work with it otherwise it drips. I have more experience with regular tips and this tip will only be used as needed.

Great Quality! Stay with these OEM tips, they conduct heat way better than the cheap junk!

This tip. This tip is the best tip I've ever used. It's a very multipurposed tip making it a great selection for lots of surface-mount work and some through-hole stuff. It's phenomenal for drag soldering and it doesn't fall short when dealing with large anchor pads because you can just angle it so the fatter, wider side of the tip is against the pad for better heat transfer. The smaller conical end of the tip can be used for individual soldering of pins as well, albeit not as finely as an actual microsoldering pencil. If you want to do any kind of SMD rework, this tip is a must. It will make your life a lot easier, and in my opinion it is better than the conical tips because you can angle this in many different ways for better heat transfer based on what you're trying to do. With conical tips that is much harder to do.

When I first got this tip, I was reminded of discovering the trackball after using regular mice my whole life. Like "why doesn't everyone use this?" I'm into DIY audio and this tip so works well for everything I've tried. Most often I do regular through-hole soldering of guitar pedals, and it's ace for that. But it also works great for surface-mount work AND big stuff like jacks and switches. The curve allows it to get into tricky spaces on a populated board. Like I said, this tip should be the default!

4/5 only because the tip wasnt as good as my chisel tip. Bought this for more precise soldering but didnt work well for me at all. Will try something else.

I have used knock off solder tips on my Hakko iron and I always find myself coming back home to Hakko tips. Durable, even heating, no surprises. Good stuff. Recommend.

Muy buena punta, ya que es delgada pero a su vez eficiente en la distribución de calor.

It's the real thing. I can't comment on all the clones out there, but the Hakko tips are really good.
