WoW! Easy to assemble. Clever design. Mechanically sound. Attractive to the eye and an efficient sun blocker. I have a narrow porch off of my apartment.....the typical umbrella is just too big but this "semi" is perfect. It winds up and down with ease. It seems very stable and hardy.Two suggestions: 1) Get mini elastic lines to bind the umbrella in place when you close it. 2) Anchor it well. You do not get a stand with the umbrella so you have to design your own stabilizer. I attached the pole to the porch railing using cable ties. Seems to be working just fine.P.S. And it is very sharp looking. Quite satisfied.

This half-umbrella is perfect to use as an awning for my kitchen window to block the morning sun. I like that I can turn the crank and stow the canopy during the windiest days, but I use a bungee cord hooked to a screw eye in the rafter to keep it in place. I've had it for a year, and the fabric is holding up well.

This umbrella is perfect for our apartment patio (9’ wide x 6’ deep). The crank works well and overall it feels sturdy. The only problem with this umbrella thus far is the lack of ties to keep it closed.Despite the lack of ties we are thinking of getting a second one to cover the rest of the patio.

I have several umbrellas around my pool. Having dogs that like to chase balls and squirrels, it is important to have some cooler places from the hot Texas sun.I added two half umbrellas with this being one of them. Being half the price of the umbrellas that I have had for multiple years, I wondered if it would last... or rather, how long it would last.I have had this umbrella two weeks.The case with the handle was loose. I tried to tighten the screws but one screw would not take hold. Then a plastic part inside cracked into pieces. This piece had something to do with keeping the opened umbrella up. I now use a bungee cord to hold the handle stationary keeping the umbrella open.So, as I stated... I wanted cheap and that's what I got. I will use it as long as I can.

I bought a used- very good version of this and I am beyond happy with the item. The package was a little beaten up but the umbrella is in great shape. I am so grateful for Amazons used/ good condition options. It makes getting things I need an easier for someone with a tight budget! Amazon is always my first choice in shopping due to the great prices, no shipping fees(on most stuff), great quality and now the added option in savings with items that have been opened and returned.

Now I can sit on my balcony anytime. This was just what I needed. Perfect!! Color was what I ordered and a nice price. Wish it had a tie to close it when it’s folded down, but not a deal breaker.
