Maybe I’m a dummy, but I thought NPT, stood for National Pipe Thread, which is tapered and you use teflon type tape to seal. I bought 2 of these units. 1 arrived damaged on the top of the threads. No big deal, right, as I bought 2. Go to thread the male end of this into a 1.25†female. The threads won’t engage into pump. Take back apart, check with nipple that was purchased locally labeled 1.25†npt and everything is perfect. Either I got 2 defective parts, or the male part is not as advertised. Sorry, but these are going back. Good looking part other than that …

I purchased this 1 1/4" Brass Check Valve for my new well pump to add a second check valve to it. This brass valve is heavy duty. It screwed on beautifully w no issues. I was able to get it good and snug w a pipe wrench. No complaints.
