So let's start off by saying no it wasn't easy to assemble. It was annoying as hell but.....it's great & quiet & definitely worth it. After having it for 5 months by gerbils started chewing on it tho. So now I gotta buy a new one. I'll be buying the same one cause they freakin love running on this thing♡

Intended as a Christmas gift for my daughters new hamster and I'm so disappointed, assembly required is an under statement. This is wrapped in saran wrap with a little picture and a zillion little pieces you've got to put together, for the price I'd been better off adding $3-5 more dollars and getting one that arrives assembled and ready to go, whatever happened to the "regular" wheels everything now is either junk or plastic you think a wood one they can run & chew but didn't think it'd be a job.

EDIT BELOW FOR FIXSo, I will say that it can be a bit of a pain to put together. But I put it in the tank and I haven't been able to get him off the darned thing.One thing that's a little frustrating is the nut in back. If you tighten it to much, the wheel doesn't move. So you have to put it on loose. To loose and it falls off the stand. I have been slowly creatively solving the problem so that way it runs smooth. Only issue in seeing is that it gets a little sticky sometimes when he's running. I'm thinking of adding some kinda grip like a soft rubber to help him grab it a little better as the wood is very smooth and he sometimes just slides.If there was a little easier way with the back bolt, it would have gotten 5 stars. I haven't seen a more happy hamster. It's been hours and he has only stopped to drink and go to the bathroom. If I come up with a creative solutions, I'll let you guys know and post pics. Otherwise, great price and it's very cute for what you get.SOLUTIONSI super glued toothpicks into each crevis and added a small round of duct tape to cover the points. He has excellent grip to run now.Put the screws on opposite of the directions. Make sure the top of the nut is in the back for it.I also used super glue and a little duct tape to hold the nut in place on the back.With the fixes, this wheel is a 5 star. Still a 4 star because I had to solve the problem though. Get this wheel and fenagle with it. It's perfect for teddy bear hamsters.

You have to put this together yourself, it doesn't come already assembled. And it was very hard to assemble. The directions show colored wood which it's not. Overall it's a nice product but I wouldn't buy it again

Really easy to put together, the wood doesn't feel like it's going to snap like some other lazer-cut stuff I've put together. They also feel really sturdy, and they're very quiet.Overall worth the price, work great, and the 9inch size is perfect for my mice

I had to put it together. Which didn’t bother me. Took about 8 minutes. But I don’t have any of the pieces. The screw , the bolt. Nothing. All I have if the wood. The wood feels sturdy and nice. But it sucks it was missing parts :/

Don’t do it, buy another premade. It took me and my roommate an hour and a half to build it. It was painful to put together and almost impossible. Now that is together it is squeaky and loud. Hamster loves it but it is not worth your time. THIS IS YOUR WARNING!

High quality wood and actually silent! Took a bit of time to assemble (about 30 mins) but spins so smooth and silent and is a great size for my gerbils! I highly recommend it!
