The shuttle can also be used without the bobbin by wrapping thread around the post. The shuttle has a 1. 0 mm steel hook and is approximately 2. 75in long (excluding hook) and 0. 75in wide. If you don't like bobbins unraveling while you work dreamlit is the way to go. It doesn't hold as much thread at a time as the aerlit design, but if you like post style this is so convenient. The 2 sides clip together with a magnet to secure it (I've never had to pop open while working) so you can take the center post out and wind it like a bobbin. It also has a true hook on it, so it is basically the moonlit design where you can wind like you would a bobbin shuttle.
