I received the book ends with a protective film on both sides. The film has tabs which makes it easy to pull the coating off.My bookends are being used in a high-use area. I plan on just leaving the film on until it’s noticeable that it’s coming off. It just gives it a frosty look so it still looks nice (just trying to extend the life of the book ends).The acrylic book ends are slim enough that they do not take up much room and at the same time they are heavy enough that they hold larger and heavier books without issue. The book ends do not slide or flex. I like that.They also come with little peel and stick dots that can be placed like feet. Seeing as how I’m using mine in an active library I will not use the dots now. I like the idea of being able to quickly and easily slide the book ends on the shelf.However, I will use the dots in established areas that will not get heavy use.I feel the book ends were well worth the money.

As much as I love bulkier and more fanciful bookends, I found myself wanting to recoup the space that they take up and use it for books (I have a ton and am rapidly running out of space). I've never been a fan of the metal bookends either.But these! These are beautiful, simple, pristine, bookends. I fell in love immediately. The ones that I received are completely clear, all arrived intact and have proven to be sturdy. They do not slide or move thanks to the little rubber bumpers that came with them. There are little tabs on the corners to peel off the film (sticking a little two sided tape to a corner to peel off works as well). Initially it seemed that I hadn't been sent enough bumpers, but found the two extra ones in the bottom of the box after unpacking it.They are acrylic, so I anticipate that if you bent it in a direction that it's not supposed to go, forced it suddenly in some way, or used it for something that is not it's intended purpose, it might break. That's normal for most things. If you are using these bookends for their intended purpose and handle normally, it should hold up beautifully.I definitely plan on buying more! I can now put books in spaces I couldn't before. I have replaced other bookends and have gotten that space back. They can't get knocked or bumped off of a shelf. And you can see through them on the ends to whatever books may be there - quite lovely if you have special or leather edition books.

Originally, I bought from a different company because my husband didn’t want to spend as much. Books were falling everywhere. They did not work. These are 2†taller and not flimsy at all. I love that I can place a single light weight book and front face it at an angle. Other books are also front facing just for interest and I’ve used the bookends for those as well. I did not use the scratch resistance pads yet because the shelves are new and still a work in progress, but I don’t feel they are needed (at least not yet). In the picture with the globe, I didn’t use any bookends since that shelf is full of soft chapter books. They seem to hold on their own, but for the hard back picture books, I needed these in order to pull an individual book out and not have books falling over. I am very pleased with these bookends. I’ve used almost all of the two boxes ordered and will be back for more when I start my next project.

These acrylic bookends are exactly what I was looking for! They’re large and sturdy enough to hold a bunch of books without tipping, and the clear design makes them practically invisible on my bookshelf. They’re good quality and have held up well without any signs of breaking, but do feel a bit flimsy. Perfect if you want a clean, minimalist look for your shelves.

These are very nice with a protective covering so the plastic has no scratches when they arrive. Nice rubber nubs can attach to the bottoms. Work well.

I love these bookends for my bedside table and end table by my seat on the sofa. They hold books and journals neatly without adding to the visual clutter. A couple were already cracked at the corners, but not really visible in use. I did not add the stick-on rubber feet, but they work fine without them.

They are OK. I don’t care for the little round sticky things at the bottom. They don’t stay on very well.
