I didn't believe such a simple item would be effective but it works. Several shakes with a bit of water cracks the shell. One just has to pick up the egg membrane and the shell comes off with minimal effort.

The key is to not use it with too much force. Expect to sacrifice an egg or two till you get it right. I know, 2 eggs is a potential waste of $1000 these days, but you can handle it!

I have found if you boil your egg 30 minutes and shake it in the peeler for about 10 seconds the shell will come right off. The egg will be perfect.
