HARRIS Safe Melt Pet Friendly Ice and Snow Melter
SafeMelt is composed of 100% magnesium chloride that is harvested from the Dead Sea by the natural evaporation of sea water and a simple refinement process. SafeMelt is significantly safer to use and kinder to our environment than most common products. This formula goes to work fast to melt ice on driveways, sidewalks, patios, roadways and more. This works great and almost instantly. I intend to purchase more for next winter. Could not believe how fast it worked and it won't hurt my n ew driveway. This type of melt was recommended and is really good.

Works pretty quick with easy snow, works less great the more it turns to sleet or icy snow. It required more than I anticipated to keep an area free of snow which is why I rated it lower on value. Regular de-icer seems to spread and manage a bit better than this one which is pet-friendly.

I have been using this ice melt for several years. It works great, does not harm my wood porch or my dog's feet. I transferred it to a container that I can open and shake onto the deck surface of my porch and stairs.

We bought this to test out the non-toxic ice/snow salts out there. We haven't yet found one we like and are specifically looking for a non-toxic one that melts well and is a good value. This definitely melts but requires a lot of salt for a little area. So, this bag barely lasted us 2 snow days worth for our outdoor steps (only 4 steps). I also want to mention it takes a bit to work (about 30 mins to an hour to melt the ice)Pros:-Non-toxic-Melts snow and ice-Easy to useCons:-Expensive-Takes a while to work-Requires a large amount to do the job
