Forgive my terrible cable management (had to set up quickly) but I just recently installed this Ethernet extender for our church. We are using it to extend a video and stage display signal from Pro Presenter to our green room for musicians and guests. Ethernet cable is roughly 80ft long and it works perfectly. Highly recommended, a breeze to setup!

I distribute a cable TV signal in my home; it's 1080p/i with nice dolby digital 5.1 sound. Until today I had been using a 1 in 4 out distributer/splitter and two separate powered HDMI-over-cat6 systems which each consisted of a pair of devices (HDMI->Cat6/Cat6->HDMI) for each of two of the TVs. I need two local HDMI and two RJ45 Cat5e in my system to accomplish this HDMI signal. This product is like it was specifically made just for my needs. It's pretty fantastic. All four TVs are showing the same signal perfectly, with 5.1 working at the remote locations. VERY happy with this device.Pictures show the splitter on top of the 1x4 HDMI splitter that it replaced on top of my rack, as well as one of the Cat6 boxes on the TV side of the Cat6 cable.

We used this to upgrade an old analog video distribution system to HD, without having to run new cables. I'd originally put passive baluns at each end of shielded Cat8 cable runs to send 480i S-video and stereo audio from satellite TV and other analog sources to two distant rooms, with the longest run being about 80' / 25m. I wasn't sure this existing cable would work, due to extra capacitance per foot from its grounded shielding (originally selected to help avoid hum pickup in analog audio), and the presence of an inline splice up in the attic partway through each run, where individual wires were soldered together. I'd tried to maintain pair twist as much as possible through these splices, but they still represent impedance discontinuities. This extender did not mind them at all, nor the grounded cable shield, sending through perfect 1080p/60Hz video & LPCM audio, though operating at only about half its specified distance limit probably helped.I'm not quite sure how the EDID Copy function is supposed to work. Our source device is a Linux-based HTPC, so HDCP is not a factor, but reading the presented EDID from that PC, the transmit end always identifies as vendor "MAC", product "HDMI EXTENDER", regardless of whether the button has been pushed, or which displays connect to which ports. In our case it doesn't matter, since all displays will accept the same standard signal timing, so everything just works.Power consumption with all ports in use is about 5W into the supplied AC adapter, of which about 0.5W goes out through Cat5/6 ports to each remote receiver - very nice that those don't need their own power connections! When the HDMI signal goes away, it drops to standby state automatically, pulling only about 1/3rd as much power, as Status LEDs go out on both transmit & receive stations, while Power stays on. It's not picky about exact voltages, and so will also operate from any direct DC source in the ~11-14V range, drawing 4.1W (e.g. 314mA at 13.1V) with all ports up, or 1.3W in standby.Use or non-use of the local HDMI outputs doesn't affect power consumption. We wired one to through a 25' AmazonBasics HDMI cable (ASIN B014I8TC4E) to a 3rd TV on the other side of a wall, with the other local output going to a monitor near the computer. So far everything's works perfectly!

I experienced a failure with an older HDMI extender over ethernet. But I had already ran the necessary cables, making the replacement setup super easy. The new extender works perfectly for my application, reliably transmitting a camera feed to an overflow area in our church.

I tested this device when I received it in Nov 2022. I did not have an opportunity to use it for real until May 2023. The test went fine. The device worked as advertised. However, when it came to real use, the converter/splitter failed, or at least I thought that it had failed. It turned out that the HDMI signal that I was trying to convert/split was too weak. I had originally given this device a 1-star review because I thought that it had failed. Now, I reversed my review and took off one star for the converter/splitter not being able to handle weaker signals. I did some more testing with it and I could easily convert an HDMI signal from my laptop and send it over CAT 6 cable to a room about 30 feet away from the source. I was able to use the Ethernet port with both HDMI outputs at the same time using the laptop's HDMI out as a source. When I changed the source to a mounted camera, everything failed. I had to boost the HDMI output from the camera in order for this convert/splitter to function. Once I boosted the signal, this device worked fine. I could once again send a signal over the Ethernet cable and to two other TVs (total of 3 TVs). So, the moral of the story is make sure that you have a strong HDMI signal when using this converter/splitter. If you do, it should work just fine. The picture quality on all 3 TVs looked great.

Bought this product 3 years ago to connect to my nvr camera system but only started using the product last year because of the additional monitors I purchased. The hdmi splitter on the main unit works however the problem comes when you use the network cable extender via the two receiver boxes provided. Since I started using the product I tried various cables both in length and type (cat 5, cat 6, cat7) to try to make the extender work properly. However they always loose signal and ever so often I would have to press the EQ button to reset the signal which is extremely inconvenient. This week both extender receiver boxes finally gave out and I cannot view my camera footage on my monitors. The price of the product is not cheap and definitely not worth the money or hassle. Therefore I will not recommend this product.

The product was bought to replace a splitter that had breathed its last. This was needed for our 4 seasons room, this makes it enables us not having to buy a separate system. Easy to install and works very well.Shipping was incredibly fast andwell packaged.

Rolled the dice on this as I needed an inexpensive balun for a live stream to get a lobby cam 150ft away to my switcher. We initially connected the camera using this device to a 200ft beat to crap unshielded cat5 cable. To our great shock- it worked perfectly. We got some image glitching after a few minutes and were unsurprised- but then it was discovered that one of our terminations was questionable. Pulled out the crimpers and a fresh RJ45 and the image came back rock solid. Needless to say I was pretty impressed that this $100 PoE powered balun drove a perfect 1080p60 image over 200+ft of crappy, beat up Cat5.I used a proper run of 150ft of STP CAT6 for the show to be safe and be sure we'd have no issues, but if I'd had to run with the garbage cable I suspect it would have held up based on how it performed during the rehearsal. Can't speak to reliability yet, but very impressed with the performance for the money!

I bought this unit to eliminate a problem I had with splitting and extending a computer signal to 2 screen projectors. The best thing I ever did after spending hundreds on other products. Plug and play right out of the box and problems free after a month of use. 👍
