My 2017 pioneer 1000-5 had the oem rubber cover “cabin comfort kit installed. It helped but this kit is a noticeable difference! Doesn’t eliminate the heat but helps reflect most of it away from the front seat and rear seat footwells. Straightforward installation. This does get difficult to get the plastic pushpins back in, especially the part around the seatbelts. I ended up leaving some of the pushpins out in that area. I’ve been on a few rides and everything seems fine. The bottom seat holds that large plastic part in place anyway the rear foot well heat shield is really only for the right rear passenger. The exhaust runs right through this area and you end up sticking the heat shielded around the right foot well area.

This was very difficult to install. O have installed new shocks and a winch on my puoneer 1000-5, and this was harder than both. Putting the plastic center piece back in was torture. The answer for me was being very generous with the scissors and cutting up away chunks of the heat shield that made putting things back together too tight. The other secret I found was to use vice grips to keep the holes lined up so you can insert the plastic rivets. Start in the center and work towards the sides. Bottom and then toop. Also, when removing the back rest you will want to raise your dump bed to access the screws. If I decide it was worth it after I ride in the heat I will increase my rating.

Honda Pioneers have a little excess heat that permeates the seat especially the passengers side as that is where the exhaust is located. This easy to install heat barrier kit really cuts the heat down. The insulation is durable and very easy to place the pieces.
