This heat cable has been a game-changer for keeping our roof clear of ice dams. I was tired of dealing with the messy, potentially damaging ice build-up every winter, and this cable has delivered. It’s been running smoothly for a few years now, standing up well to all sorts of weather. No more worrying about ice dams or climbing up to clear out gutters—it’s done the job without any fuss. Installation was straightforward, and once it was up, it just worked. If you're fed up with winter ice issues and want something reliable, this heat cable is a solid choice. It’s saved us a lot of headaches and keeps our roof in great shape. Highly recommend it for anyone facing the same icy battles!

These were purchased for a roof in ND and if you live in cold climates such as this, I would suggest a higher wattage. They do work, but it hasn't been that cold and we have noticed we should have purchased a higher wattage. These were also installed on a steel roof which was not the easiest thing to do as they don't like to stay attached. They were much cheaper than the products sold at the box stores.

This is an excellent product. The clips that were included were useless. The clips were designed to go into a thin asphalt roof shingle. We have hail proof shingles that were twice as thick as thin asphalt shingles. I then had to rig up clips that went on top of my gutter guards.

I did not buy it for roof. I used it for something not suggested. But it did the job over and above what I needed. Also it said don't use an extension cord. I had to do so but used a more than an adequate one. That is your choice as to follow the seller's advice or not. The second way is I used to to unfreeze ice that accumulated around my ice eater that quit working in the Lake. It did melt the 5 inch thick ice enough that I could fix the ice eater. Again this was not a suggested use. But I was impressed.

I have a north oriented section of roof that has always had ice buildup issues. Got the Heatit. It works well enough for that area, but the end was not flexible so I couldn’t feed it down the downspout. I attached it to the outside of the downspout next to the house but that didn’t work. I moved the ice issue from one place to another. Oh well, no ice over the patio door so some improvement anyway.

We’ve had this installed on our roof and in our gutters for about 2.5 years. This year has been the true test for it and it’s not doing anything. The ice has built up, the snow is still on the edge, and the rope is ice cold (no pun intended - but really - there’s ice). The first year it did great, but another year past and all the hard work to install it is for naught. Super disappointing.

Difficult to add any working pictures as they are placed on my roof.Seems to be working as they should by melting the snow and ice on our roof.Winters in Ontario are horrible.
