I bought this lock for my old glass sliding doors with wood frames. The lock works fine. I had to make a small wooden base for one side in order to install the lock. Both sides of the lock need to be at the same level. The metal is cast alloy. It's not as solid as for example stainless steel, but I couldn’t find a sliding door lock of this type made from stainless steel. The lock will be used in addition to the original door locking mechanism, so I’m not overly concerned about whether it will break if someone attempts to break the door. Also, most locks are penetrable anyway and just there to prevent the door from being opened. If someone wanted to break an entrance, then they would just break the window. I am happy with the lock and would buy it again. It only gets 4 stars because of the alloy.

I got this with the notion of using it to latch my bathroom barn door. It arrived quickly, was packaged well and is heavy duty indeed. It is a nice looking piece of hardware! Unfortunately for me, I wasn't thinking too clearly when I ordered this 180 degree latch, because what I need is their 90 degree latch instead! But if a 180 degree latch is what you need, I expect you'll be very pleased with this item.

First of all, this flip latch is very heavy. Material is very strong. I am sure it is a fine lock.However, the coating of this lock is not very durable. I scratched it just to install it. While Black looks very slick, I wish it came with different colors so that it can hide any defect better.

Great lock, heavy duty. Put it on the kids tree house door. It's super strong and has a great locking mechanism. Keeps the door from warping and gives it a nice seal.

This is a well-constucted latch system with a few considerations.Just be careful with the spacing and alignment of your latch placement. The hinged half can easily be mounted upside-down, since the latch spins in all directions.It does not work in two orientations as in the product image. The only orientation is with both latch halves being mounted in the same direction, on the same plane, not with one at 90 degrees on the jamb and the other on the door face, as in the image.

It's quite heavy, feels solid, and the black looks great. We put a folding door on a room because of space, and this lets the door be 'locked' from the inside. It's not secure, but then indoor locks generally aren't.I'm quite happy with it. Note that you should put it up in the closed position to be sure it's aligned correctly. If it's not installed right, it could be very janky.

This is a good looking latch that works smoothly. I attached it to a door I made for an interior closet and like the distance out from the wall (about 1/4"), which allows for molding and doesn't hit or mar the surface. It is just what I wanted.
