Your cart is empty.--Rugged Construction-- The Helix Skimmer features strong and extremely durable construction. Made in the USA from heavy-duty Rotational Molded HDPE, it holds up better than most other skimmers, especially in regions with compacted soil and heavy freeze-thaw cycles where weaker skimmers can easily be crushed. --Compact Profile-- The Helix Pond Skimmer is tall but not wide, giving it a very low profile around the pond and making it easier to hide with rocks around the edge of the pond. The Helix Skimmer also has an optimum fill height that is just 2 inches from the top of the skimmer, allowing you to have a clean pond edge and a fuller-looking pond. Since it doesn't require a lid, it can also be easily covered with a large stone or faux stone. --Effective Operation-- The Helix Pond Skimmer has a round strainer basket that is modeled after swimming pool skimmer baskets. This time-tested, familiar technology creates a helical (spiral-shaped) flow that effectively traps debris. The rigid basket is tight-fitting, so that debris cannot bypass the basket. The basket is 8 inches in diameter and 8 inches tall, but the helical flow compresses debris into the basket, giving it higher capacity. The weir opening of the skimmer is 15 inches, allowing for flow rates from 1500-8000gph. --Fish-Friendly Design-- Most skimmers have a weir door at the entrance to the skimmer chamber. Once they slip past this skimmer door, fish can become trapped inside. The Helix Pond Skimmer does not have a weir door, making it safer for fish. The floating weir inside the leaf basket sits right at the top of the water level, helping prevent fish from getting inside. --Versatile Options-- The Helix Pond Skimmer is 35 inches Tall x 19 inches Wide x 18 inches Long. Its large, flat side panels can easily support an auto-fill valve without it becoming encumbered with debris.

I'm loving this skimmer. The install was easier than anticipated, although I did watch a few youtube videos on how to do it. The hardest part was digging a narrow hole deep enough to hold the housing. I was able to add the submersible water pump, autofill and overflow drain easily. Looks to be solid build with thick plastic body and seems sturdy once in the ground. I put a flagstone over the top to cover it, and the weight of the stone does not bend the top at all. First time I turned it on I feel lucky there were no leaks anywhere so I am happy. If I had any complaint, it would only be the high price - expensive but I think this is the best product out there. 5 stars no matter the high cost.

The skimmer appears sturdy and my pump fits well. However, I have watched multiple videos of the Pond Digger installing the skimmer and he drills the bulkhead on the video. I read the description of the skimmer and it does not specify that there is a 2 inch predilled bulkhead into the skimmer. So now I will have to purchase an adapter which adds head to the pump. Pondliner also includes a 2 inch bulkhead with the Waterfall Spillway BF2600. I spent over $500 on each of these products and I have to purchase an additional bulkhead for the waterfall filter as well. I would check the output of your pump and/or just purchase one with a 2 inch output.

We have been upgrading our pond this summer (size, depth and design) and knew that our older equipment wouldn't be sufficient to support the load of the new pond. Our koi and hi-fin shark range in size from 15" up to 30", demanding higher performing filters and skimmers. We saw the Helix on "The Pond Digger" and instantly knew that it was perfect for us. Paired with a Cyclone 6550 Pump, uv filter and an older outside (fine) filter, the system performs perfectly with sparkling clear water. Highly recommend

Very expensive for what you’re actually getting, although the skimmer design and function is top notch. A little unhappy that no lid is included especially for such an exorbitant price.

The floating weir is a death trap for koi and goldfish. I have had this system for a year and a half and have lost more fish than in the previous seven years with a different system. If a fish touches the weir, it pushes downward and the fish are sucked into the vortex and end up in the basket nose first, with no way to get out.

Well made equipment and does a wonderful job skimming. I was so impressed with the constructionof the skimmers that I also purchased the settlement tanks for the new construction of a koi pond. Picof pond after start-up. Water is green because I used water from a nearby private pond.
