I tested my device and immediately notice the taco shell was very wide at the top. If you bite the shell, it will certainly crack along the whole bottom. I squeezed the shell holder and now I'll be able to eat a taco without it breaking. Also, the number one complaint I read before buying this device was in regards to having to flip the taco because it won't fit in a pan. Now that my holder is skinner, it will fry a taco in a pan. I’ve owned two of these two tongs. They work ok frying shells in a pan of oil. After awhile, the first one developed rust at the joints, etc. so I ordered a new one. The pivot point is so tight they are dangerous to use. I threw them away and will try a different approach.

Don't work! The basket welded on wrong, so you can only fry one side!! Be careful, great cooking tool if it was made right!!! Live & Learn.

I have a taco recipe that was my dad's that I have carried on making as an adult. I don't make it nearly enough because it takes forever to make homemade shells and homemade shells is a must. My son saw a video about this gadget where they tested it out and it worked. So I purchased it. I finally made my dad's tacos as a tribute to him (he has passed) for my husband's Father's Day Dinner. It made it so easy. I wish they were a little narrower formed. The opening is a bit wide, but it still works and it's better than the alternative, using 2 tongs and doing one at a time and holding them, not being able to work on the rest of the meal. I bought 2 to make it faster. Highly recommended! It's great value for the price. It's versatile, you can use it to fry flat bread or flour tortillas. The handle grip is like the ones on a metal tong and it is easy to hold.

You can only fry one side with this. The basket is tilted to the side so you can't rotate it in a pan.

I wish the angle of the hande was different so I could use it in a slightly deeper pot. It'd be nice if the bend in the taco shell was slightly rounded to allow fillings to the bottom of the shell. The V shape would be better as more of a U. All that said, it is the best solution I've tried for home taco nights.
