I bought it to make corn dough for tamales or Hallacas, it works as expected i use it just with corn so far so good, the set up was easy

It's a good design idea, but I happened to get a defective one that has a gap between the grinding plates. Also, I was going for non-toxic and although this item says cast iron, it seems to be coated with white stuff. I Google it and Google says it is simply white iron, but it looks like there is some kind of coating. The item says coated but I am not sure if that means painted or seasoned like you would for a cast iron frying pan.

Crank handle bolt was drilled way off center making it hard to use had to take flashing off just to get parts to assemble

I try to make most things from home and this has allowed me to grind my own oat flour, cornmeal, coffee beans, you name it. I have only had this for about a week and I have already used it for so much and it has saved me a lot of money from having to buy more expensive healthy products. The materials are really heavy and high quality and it is easy to attach to the counter and use.
