While most commonly used for masking purposes during finishing, there are hundreds of other uses around the shop, home, lab, classroom, etc. This superior grade of silicone is capable of withstanding temps up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit (315 Celsius) for 20 minutes and holds up to most chemicals. It is ultra tough yet flexible, reusable and will not crack, harden, shrink or break over time. I purchased these silicone plugs to plug a steam hole in a glass crockpot lid. The plugs work great to prevent heat and steam loss during prolonged crockpot usage. I didn’t need anywhere near this many plugs, but they are still a cheap and easy solution for the problem. And if I lose one I will have plenty more to replace it.

Masked 1/4" holes in wood prior to finishing. Soft enough to insert and remove easily. Blocks paint from entering drilled holes, keeping them clean for glue up.

So I bought these to call out the ends of pens that I decorate and sell and these made clean up a breeze, kept unwanted material from getting to places it shouldn't. The silicone makes cleaning them for reuse easy as well.

Used one to replace a $10 plastic grease plug on snow blower. These stay in and are not affected by petroleum.

Stick these in ends of your pens before applying epoxy and epoxy wont get imside the pen. Epoxy dose not stick to these !
