While most commonly used for masking purposes during finishing, there are hundreds of other uses around the shop, home, lab, classroom, etc. This superior grade of silicone is capable of withstanding temps up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit (315 Celsius) for 20 minutes and holds up to most chemicals. I use these to seal penetrations in ductwork that I use for testing purposes like temperature, humidity, and static pressure. These fill a 3/8†hole for me.

I am a quilter and I bought these to use on the end of my pins. I can leave them on and the iron won't melt them and they are a fraction of the cost of some that are like this at the quilt store.

Work great for so many applications. I use these and the larger ones to make my own back purge plugs for welding stainless tubing. Way cheaper than buying the specifically designed kits that use the same plugs.

I did not buy these for the intended purpose, I bought them to plug drain holes in sterilite tubs that were 3/8". These work really well for my purpose, and are very well made. They feel like a really hard rubber (silicone) that has nice flex to it, but I think it would be hard to break one of these. They are reusable beyond belief and will last a long time for my purpose.Seeing as how they were made for high heat, I did want to test this. The only way I knew to test it was with a blowtorch. After about a minute or two under a torch, my arm got tired, but the plug held its shape and still worked great, so if you need the high heat aspect of these, just know it works.

Used the silicon plugs to fill the empty threaded sockets on my motorcycle which were created when I relocated my side view mirrors. I inserted the plugs and sliced off the excess silicon, then coated the exposed surface with black liquid electrical tape. Very satisfied with the result.
