To be as small as it is (and btw, that was our choice... to get only a smaller wheel), it sure does a good job.The fact that it's SOLID and SUBSTANTIAL... that's just great... the heavier wheel like this keeps spinning longer than a lightweight wooden or plastic one...ANd that's just great when molding and sculpting bowls and things with that symmetric roundness best done on a wheel. Takes very little effort in the fingers to keep this bowl spinning.JUST PERFECT!

This sculpting wheel is absolute amazing. I'm shocked out good it is! I was not expecting much at this price but am SO HAPPY I made this order. The quality is outstanding. The spin is smooth and so perfect for making art or sculpting. I actually use it for my paintings, but it's also gonna be great for any sculptures out there. I really am so happy with this sculpting wheel. It's heavy, metal, and really really well made. You will be SO glad you purchased this bad boy. I can't think of a time I was this happy with a product. It's that good. I sound like a spokesperson! But seriously, it's the best art wheel I've ever owned. I may go ahead and buy another to make my life easier with my projects!

Small variance of concentricity of top plate, roughly 1mm of out-of-roundness. Steel construction, everything is coated so probably steel that can rust if you are abusive. The coating seems durable, machining lines remain visible but muted.All visible metal components are magnetic.Spins with little resistance, sustains spin for long enough to show a very low amount of friction.Spindle in base is semi protected, will be worth it to 3D print a small cap to fit in the recessed base and extend the protection further up if you plan to use this around large quantities of liquid paint.Bottom of base plate has a drip edge, that will mitigate dripping liquids from inundating the spindle recession in the base.Base has a semi hard/soft silicone rubber type pad, 1-2mm thick, is fitted on and can be removed.Initially I bought a plastic turn table with metal bearings, but while that could spin it couldn’t reach a suitable spin rpm. The friction was so great that the spin would stop once force was no longer applied, braking within a second or two.Once my use case was confirmed, the product on this page was found to be a likely replacement.I am pleased with this decision and would recommend it if you are considering a spinning platform device with an eye towards performance and longevity.Cheers!

Outstanding piece of equipment. It won't turn over when using it for spin pour painting. It's very heavy and is of very good quality.

Great for most uses, I just wish it had a bit of a smoother spin to it, but that usually comes with a more expensive banding wheel I think - or maybe it just needs some WD40?
