I had a spill on my range that dripped inside my old coil-style range. The old insulation would smoke when the back burner was on so I knew I needed some new insulation. This did the trick. After using this for a while, it provides a good thermal barrier. The outside of my range where I put the extra insulation is much cooler and the area where I had to remove the old dirty insulation is also behaving well. It was fairly easy as I followed a YouTube video on how to replace the insulation for a range of the same brand and looked like mine. This allowed me to feel confident and get it done in a fairly short amount of time.Things to know:First, this is not a full range or oven's worth. This is only enough to add extra in spots or strips that are thin or in small areas where you might need to replace some as I did. There is plenty for this purpose but not enough for replacing all of your old insulation. If you need to replace all of your insulation I suggest looking up your model and getting the appropriate item. I had enough to replace my damaged area and also add some to the front where it had been hot previously when running the oven for a while. I ended up with more than I needed which I just fit in along the sides and top in areas I felt could use it.Second, look up a YouTube video for your model number, or if you can't find a video of your particular model find one for your brand that looks close to your oven or range. Pause that video as needed and rewatch it so you can do this step by step. This made it really easy for me.Third, remember to use proper fiberglass handling procedures. Mask, eye protection, and gloves while handling the insulation. Fiberglass is exactly that. Tiny filaments of glass. It can be painful or even dangerous if you inhale or get it in your eyes so just be careful. My last tip is to get a muffin tin or a bunch of jars or tins out for your loose screws. Use a little post-it note or a scrap of paper to give a general location for those particular screws. This makes it much easier once you are reassembling the oven or range. So many loose screws and just keeping them separate and labeled makes the whole job so much easier and less stressful.Overall this is an easy job if you can find a video to follow. Anyone comfortable in doing simple repairs should be able to handle it.

I used these to protect parts of my car when removing a bolt. I had to use a torch to heat up a stuck bolt, near some sensitive rubber parts. This kept the rubber from getting melted.

This patch of ceramic insulation can be used in projects where fire resistance is a concern. It sheds bits of material like fiberglass insulation, so wearing gloves is recommended.

Good product, as described, packaged adequately. I haven't tested the claim of 2400°F and I likely never will. This will be used in a DIY kiln. I am pleased with the product and have no complaints.

This blanket works great with my husband's smoker to both protect flammable areas from the heat his smoker puts off and to help keep that heat in the smoker itself. At least that is what he says it does. I remember my father having and using similar when he was alive. The blanket itself is nice and smooth. There are no stiff or hard spots to it that indicate poor quality. My husband reports that it retains heat very well.My daughter wants some of these for her various kilns.Use gloves to handle as not doing so causes irritation.
