This is exactly the product for which I was looking. I shall be putting it to use in a somewhat unorthodox manner; I teach a self-contained geometry class to high school girls who have learning disabilities. One of the things I have noticed is that they have trouble translating what they learn in the subject to the real world, so I designed a class in which we are applying what we are learning by building miniature furniture in detail, using everything we learn in geometry to design and build what I teach. Aside from being a doctoral candidate in Special Education, I'm a master cabinetmaker, so I know how to teach carpentry. The steel wool is to be used to rub down the items we build after giving it several coats of varnish in order to achieve a very smooth and professional finish. This steel wool is absolutely the perfect quality for that purpose and will not make uneven scratches in the finish of the wood surface on which we are presently working. It will help to smooth the wood perfectly to receive its final coats of varnish. As I said, a bit of an unorthodox use of the product, but that's why I bought it, and its quality is just that for which I was looking. If you are into woodworking, you'll love this bronze wool.

Does not leave minute particles that will rust like steel wool. Since it is softer than steel wool, it will not scratch metals harder than bronze. "Boaters" that have a lot of chrome exterior fittings use this to maintain their bright work. Auto enthusiasts use this to clean their windscreens. You must clean your windscreen of "windshield" as the yanks call it, before using this on the windscreen. The purpose of this is to remove the find layer of oil that collects on the windscreen which all cars and trucks accumulate and eventually make the windscreen "smear" when you first turn on the wipers. It is not to be used on any painted surface. Motorcyclists also can use this on any Chrome over metal to clean up the chrome, whereas using 0000 steel wool "sheds" minute steel wool particles and can also produce minute scratches in the chrome plating.Since it is bronze it should not scratch chrome. Selecting the fine grade of bronze wool is the best choice for expensive chrome over metal on cars and motorcycles. I do not use this over chrome over plastic nor would I be willing to take a chance to do so. This "Fine" grade of Bronze wool can also be used on house windows to remove any residue like paint spatter rather than using a razor blade. It should never be used on any tinted film on windows or low emmissivity coatings on house windows.

The product worked great for rust removal! Use with lubricant, as in oily penetrate!

This is good quality bronze wool. It has some advantages over fine steel wool: Less inclined to splinter, more durable, and does not rust.I bought it for cleaning the inside of my 120-gallon glass turtle tank, figuring the bronze would be less inclined to scratch the glass. (Not that steel would scratch the glass, but bronze is softer in that respect.) It works very well for that task. I've gotten about half of the inside of the tank free of algae with just one small puff of bronze wool. So I expect my supply to last a very long time unless I take on a big wood refinishing product. The pricing was strange. I was able to save money by buying multiple small packages. Buyer beware.

Bought this because I have an old 22 cal. revolver that someone gave me years ago that I had just "tossed" in a drawer....Found it one day, and it was all covered with surface rust...Not the deep pitting kind, just heavy outside rust.Got a lot of advise on how to get the rust off, but because of expense, I decided to do the job myself......All of the steel wool I have ever used was a royal pain in the butt...fine metal shavings everywhere, doesn't hold up, and of course the horrible rust it gets after you leave it in your tool box.Got this item and it was just what I needed...Took my time rubbing the metal parts of the revolver, and didn't get any shavings or metal "dust" as I would have with the steel wool.....It also seems to hold up better that the "steel" version......When I was done, the revolver looked like a different weapon......All the rust gone, and no metal "residue" left on it and inside the mechanism.Looked around everywhere to try to purchase it locally (wanted it in a hurry), but couldn't find it....In conclusion, there is no comaprison between this Bronze Wool, and regular steel wool.I live in Florida near the water, and EVERYTHING made of metal rusts....When I would use regular steel wool on anything, it left a mess and I would have to throw it away afterwards, because if it got wet it would turn into a blob of rust....Not with this bronze wool.It is expensive, but more than worth the price.....I can actually rinse it off from use, and it can be used again....In the long run, the cost is comparable because you aren't throwing the pad out after every use.My only complaint is that I couldn't get different sizes.Oh, and by the way, you don't get the little metal "slivers" in your fingers like you get with the steel wool.

My expectations were not met and I was disappointed. The amount you get is rather skimpy. I would not purchase again. The quality seems ok.

This is good bronze wool. The pad is on the small size. A great product when bronze wool is needed.

I used this to remove rust stains on some UPVC Decking Posts together with some Pinkstuff Cream. Worked really well and didn't scratch the surface. Recommended.

Perfect for cleaning chrome without scratches. Spray a little WD40 and rub, takes the surface rust right off.
