This #0000 grade steel wire wool applies the wax very evenly and easily to the surface of the wood. The wool is very soft to touch and when used with even pressure will allow you to achieve a very professional antique finish. Not only will it apply the wax correctly but it will also remove any surface dirt and dust at the same time, this in turn, in many cases removes the need to clean the surface prior to waxing.

Tips of polishing with steel wool
To polish chrome plated parts.
First of all, make sure that dirt and grease are removed from the chrome by cleaning it with soap and water. Then let it dry well.
Cut a piece of steel wool 0000 and fold it in half. Apply considerable pressure! Simply rubbing is not enough. Patience is a virtue in this respect, don't expect a panacea but let the steel wool do the work.
How to apply on flat wood surfaces..
When using on flat surfaces always apply the wire wool with an open flat hand with even pressure, also ensure when applying again on flat surfaces to move your hand in a straight a line as possible otherwise your arm will naturally arc at the ends creating the same arc in the finish. Please be aware that steel wool is a light abrasive and will leave very very fine scratches on the surface of the finish. We have found that this oil-free steel wool applies the wax very evenly and easily to the surface of the wood.

I prefer 0000 steel wool for rubbing tung oil onto my furniture pieces - makes a nice 'slurry' which I allow to sit and penetrate for a moment or two before wiping off excess with a clean cloth.

I hopes to receive a much more smooth wool. Hope it will not scratch the metal i indentede to clean it withThe first photo shows this product on the left and what I expected on the right. The second photo shows tis product up close. Hope i am not further disapointed!

Bought 2 rolls but it wouldn't go to waste. It's so useful. Used it to clean water stains of my car's windows and it worked great. Have some chrome to clean up next. Remember to keep it lubricated pretty well and you'll be good.
