I was looking for a basic timer switch for guest half-bathroom. I wanted it to be dedicated to fan, nice looking and dumb-simple - set default time and forget. I didn't want the old school spring timer. But I wanted it to shout very clearly - "hey, I'm the fan switch", as most countdown timers on the market are not, or are just way too complicated to use. So, I thought this would be the one and wrong I was. This is designed for manual operation, despite the deceiving looks. If you want a timer function for 15 minutes, you need to 1) turn it on (1 push), 2) turn the fan icon (1 push), 3) set time (4 pushes, starting from 60 minutes stepping down to 15 minutes). That's like 6 times you knock this darn thing to get it to do a basic timer function!! That's too much if you're in a rush!!! You know what I mean. And you have to push hard as it will not always sense your finger, think durability issues in a long run. So, unless you are trained properly on how to operate this thing, it will never do its job right. On the good side it's the only "nice looking" timer switch that is able to properly operate Panasonic silent bathroom fans that I could find here on Amazon. Overall, it might be ok if you just want a manual fan function, but not good as a timer. I'll leave you be the judge. I'm returning mine.
