Easy to install. Made of metal which looks so much better and more durable than the old plastic vent I had. Comes with everything you need to install.

This vent cover is reasonably priced, nicely finished, sturdy and should hold up well. Unfortunately the grate is permanently attached so you can't get a vent brush in from this side. This is a problem if you can't get a brush into the vent tube from the back side, which is our situation. The other problem I encountered is that the hinge pins attached to the damper were not in the intented holes so the damper was flopping around loose inside the cover. One of the hinge pins was bent, so even if I went through the "ship in a bottle" exercise of getting the pins back in place, the cover wouldn't fit flush when closed. It's hard to say if this is a seller problem or a manufacturing quality issue.I returned it and went with another product due to the inability to remove the grate for cleaning purposes. If the grate were removable, I would have taken my chances with a replacement.

Very well constructed and a perfect fit replacing my old plastic vent cover that leaked in outside air

This metal vent is definitely an improvement over the plastic vent it’s replacing, but has it's own issues. The weak magnet that’s supposed to keep the vent door closed came off. I taped it back on but I’m not depending on it keeping the door fully closed. I understand the magnet can’t be so strong the door will not open when the dryer is in use but it needs to be a little stronger to keep the door closed when dryer is off. I added a screen behind the removable grid to prevent any critters from getting through the large holes. The issues I have with the vent is that the grid is difficult to remove/put back on (even before adding a screen), the weak magnet, the large grid holes and screws that will rust (I replaced with weather resistance ones). I’m happy with my purchase, even with the issues mentioned.

roofers knocked off and discarded my dryer vent cover. my dryer exhaust vent pipe (4 inches in diameter) actually sticks out of my stucco wall about 5 inches. all of the dryer vent covers on the market are pretty much made for attaching to a wall (can't on mine) and their cover's pipe section is 4 inches in diameter - same as the size of my pipe. even the crimped ones would not slide into my existing pipe far enough and then would only work if "attached" to something. if you are having the same issue - this is the vent cover for you. it has a smaller pipe section so slides in perfectly. metal grips on side for snug fit. my magnet for the door was actually stuck to the lid. just reattached it to the seal with some bonding cement (dont get on the magnet side). works like a charm. my dryer is quite a ways from the exhaust vent to outside and it still opens fully when running and closes (and seals) when not in use. been using several months through high winds, snow and ice and i am pleased as can be!
