Still too noisy to keep in the house but out in the garage it's no problem. I've done 3 sessions of polishing glass and it's easy to use and works great.

Most rock tumblers seem to be pretty similar but this one has something those others don't and it makes a big difference. It has that cover over the tumbler drum and that helps quiet this tumbler. If you've never used a tumbler, they can be pretty noisy so any dampening of that noise is a big plus! After tumbling rocks for a month, believe me, you'll appreciate any noise reduction you can find.

I would stay away from this, as many have complained the "belt" broke. We managed to get thru the 1st stage at 6 days and on the 2nd stage only got 4 days out of an 8 day cycle before belt broke. Have the supplied 2nd belt installed, but this seller of the product has no replacement belts available for purchase. Not even sure where you can get one. Going to look into maybe purchasing an O-Ring of similar size from the parts store. Probably will be cheaper in the long run. If they do offer the belt separately I can't seem to find it.

I’ve only started it on step 1. It is very easy to put together. Instructions are clear. I added a few extra rocks to the pack that is sent. I checked it a few minutes after starting and noted some chipping off the more delicate pieces. I purchased extra grit separately and added some ceramic medium to hopefully cushion it a bit more. I do wish the set came with more than one round of grit, not sending the ceramic medium with such small and delicate pieces seems like a bit of an oversight. This did come with some replacement belts. I’d compare the noise level is about as loud as a kitchen aid mixer on a medium setting if left on the counter in my kitchen. I placed a few folded up newspapers under it and it significantly reduced the noise level. I may put it in the basement or garage depending on how noisy it is at night but during the day it isn’t an issue. Will update the further we explore this project as it takes time to tumble rocks.

Takes a month or so nonstop to do rough rocks and the belt broke first thing so durability is an issue it seems. Very loud. This is the first time we've had one of these so don't know if this is typical but for a boy waiting to see his results this was a long wait.

Wish it was a little bigger capacity for larger rocks to work with.
