Purchased for my daughter (14)and niece(6). They absolutely loved them. Great value, easy-to-use and ready to go for tumbling. Fun for kids and adults. We have a harbor fright double barrel tumbler and we have both barrels going at the moment. I've herd the grit isn't the best, but we gonna give it a try. I will do an update on the grit in a month-ish when we make it through all 4 stages.

There was a lot of rocks. All different sizes. That I did like but there were a lot of rocks, at least a pound worth, that were unusable. They were way too small to last through the tumbling process. So that's a waste I wasn't very happy about that. But it does come with extra steps one through four grit and I was pleased with that because I didn't read that in the description so that was a nice surprise. Each pack comes with about a tablespoon worth of grit so you'll have to use multiple packs if you are using a tumbler that takes more than a pound. Overall would purchase again because it is a good deal for the money just wish there was more usable rocks.

If you have a tumbler it's nice to get kits with the polishing powder included. Kids like it. Cheap things for necklaces etc but that's expected.

I inherited my dads rock tumbler and wanted to take it for a spin. After doing a little research, I discovered that grit can be expensive as you need 4 different types to have a successful tumble. This kit has everything you need from start to finish. Admittedly, as a rock hound, I felt like a bit of a cheater ordering 5 lbs of rock online from National Geographic. As the days go by though, I grow more and more excited to see the transformation. In my opinion, this kit is a great value for what you receive. If you are looking for a starter kit, this is definately the one for you! I will definately be ordering this one again because it has a terrific selection of specimens. Happy Hounding!
