Discover the beauty of polished stones !

Explanation: The motion in the barrel of the polisher simulates the natural action of flowing water or ocean waves. Beaches and riverbeds contain rocks and pebbles smoothed by water and the abrasive sand it carries. As rocks grind upon one another with constant water or sand in the mix, they begin to round and smooth. Although this is a constant process, it does not however, naturally polish the rocks. The complete process usually takes 4-6 weeks.

Motor on purchase on May 12 burned up and seized. The older on is still going. Tryed to email and get nothing. No response . As of Aug 9 2024, started around last week of July. Instead of purchasing any I’ll just make a multi drum unit for about 6-8 drums. So I went through Amazon to complain and I found out sellers have to go through Amazon to contact buyers. We worked it out and I AM PLEASED! Leegol Electric is sending me a new one. Yea!So if you have any issue go though Amazon and they will help you!

This tumbler has had problems ever since I purchased it, and finally the motor burned out and could have started a fire if I hadn’t gone in to check on it when I did. I’ve had this tumbler for a little over a year. Most of the time, I didn’t even run it because I didn’t want to deal with the problems. Often, the drums wouldn’t turn, so I’d be limited to using just one drum, and I couldn’t even fill it up to capacity. Once I tightened the belt, I could get two drums to turn, but each had a 2 lb max weight- any more weight and they stopped turning. About a month later, the belt broke. I replaced the belt, but I didn’t tighten it as much, in fear that it would break again. So I was back to using just one drum. Then a month later, I walked into my garage and smelled a burning smell, and the tumbler wasn’t turning the drum; it was just making a loud, grating whirring sound. I felt the heat coming from it while standing two feet away. When I touched it with the back of my hand, it was as hot as a stove. I’m so glad I walked in when I did. The motor obviously burned out, so the tumbler is now useless. I emailed Leegol-Electric’s “customer support,” and also called them and left a voicemail, but they haven’t replied to me. They do not have any customer service, so please beware. If you purchase anything from them, good luck getting any help, should you need any. I can’t believe they’re allowed to be in business. It seems somewhat scam-like.On a more positive note, I’ve been using their single drum tumbler consistently for a couple of years now, and besides having to replace about 6 or 7 belts, it’s still running and working well for me.

After several weeks of hands-on experience with the Leegol Electric Single Drum 3LB Rock Polisher, I'm ready to delve into the nitty-gritty of what makes this machine a worthy addition to any hobbyist's collection. This single barrel rock tumbler is designed for those who are either just beginning their journey into rock tumbling or seasoned veterans looking for a reliable, compact unit.Pros:Ease of Use: The Leegol Electric Rock Tumbler is remarkably user-friendly, making it a perfect entry point for beginners. Its simple operation allows for an easy start with minimal setup time, ensuring that users of all skill levels can begin their tumbling projects without a steep learning curve.Compact and Durable Design: The size of this rock tumbler is a significant advantage for those with limited space. Its compact design does not sacrifice durability; the machine feels sturdy and well-built, capable of handling continuous use without issues.Efficient Polishing: With a 3-pound capacity, this single barrel polisher is surprisingly efficient. It consistently produces smooth, polished stones, reflecting its effectiveness in tumbling a variety of rock types. The included instructions offer valuable tips for achieving the best results, which is particularly helpful for newcomers to the hobby.Quiet Operation: Compared to many other rock tumblers in the market, the Leegol Electric Rock Tumbler operates relatively quietly. This is a significant advantage for users who live in shared spaces or prefer to run their tumbler for extended periods without the disturbance of loud noise.Cons:Single Barrel Limitations: The single barrel design, while efficient and space-saving, limits the amount of rocks you can polish at one time. For those looking to undertake larger projects or tumble different types of rocks simultaneously, this might be a constraining factor.Long Polishing Times: As with most rock tumblers, patience is a virtue. The tumbling process can take several weeks from start to finish, which might test the patience of users eager to see immediate results. This is not a flaw of the Leegol Electric Rock Tumbler per se but rather a general consideration for newcomers to rock tumbling.Manual Water and Grit Replacement: The process requires manual intervention to change the water and add grit between stages, which might be a bit tedious for some users. However, this is a common aspect of rock tumbling and something that enthusiasts grow accustomed to.Final Thoughts:The Leegol Electric Single Drum 3LB Rock Polisher is a solid choice for anyone looking to get into rock tumbling or needing a compact, reliable machine for smaller projects. Its ease of use, efficient polishing capability, and quiet operation make it stand out in its category. While the single barrel design and the inherent nature of rock tumbling's time-consuming process might be minor drawbacks, they are far outweighed by the machine's overall performance and value. Whether you're polishing stones for jewelry, educational purposes, or simply as a hobby, the Leegol Electric Rock Tumbler is a gem worth considering.

No amount of lubrication, adjusting and readjusting would stop this unit from the annoying racket of screeches, chirps, and squeaks it made during operation. The screws would just not hold their adjustments. After each readjustment, it would work quietly for about five minutes before the racket would begin again. The unit looked pretty good on the outside and the drums appeared good quality but the inside workings were cheap and flimsy and this was the more expensive of the units. Sending it back.UPDATE: After fiddling with the unit some more (we hated to have to send it back) we decided to check to see if it was on the level AND IT WASN'T. Because of this, the drums were putting more pressure on the rollers toward the pulley side and riding up against that side. A piece of a cedar shingle, about 3/8 of an inch, was placed under the "feet" of the side of the unit under the motor to raise it to level. We have been running the unit for a couple of days since this adaptation and it has quieted right down. Raised the rating from one to four stars and will keep it.

These tumblers are awesome they work great I didn’t like the kitty litter abrasive stuff so I went with grit and all stone of varieties of sizes that way it’s more natural process. If you’re thinking about buying this I highly recommend my wife and I are Rockies and love these double barrel tumblers.

What I like- two barrels is a good idea. I can have one canister filled with rough rocks tumbling while the second canister is tumbling rocks in the second, third or fourth stages. Doing this I can keep a good flow of stones polishing. Realize the rough stones get rounded down by 20% or so by the end of the process so you need to do more rough stones to keep up enough material to keep the canisters full enough to tumble properly as you polish the next 4-5 stages in getting a final polish. It is really nice having two tumblers in the same unit. I can’t imagine doing this with a single barrel unit. What you should know-1- the unit makes the noise of a small motor running 24-7 and the cascading sound of the stones in the canisters Tumbling all day and night. It is noisy. I can not hear the unit running in the garage from inside the house but it makes enough noise if we are in the garage that we have to turn it off when we are doing anything in the garage so it doesn’t drive a person crazy. I don’t mind the noise as long as the unit lives in the garage but then again it’s my unit. The rest of the family tend to turn the thing off on me when I’m not paying attention then forget to turn it back on which has been an issue between me and my family of saboteurs! If you think you are going to be able to run the unit in your bed room or inside your house in a closet you are mistaken. It’s just too noisy. Not rock concert noisy but trust me when I say it’s a noise you won’t want running in the background inside your house. . The whole unit really needs to live in a garage or other isolated indoor space that has power for the chord to plug in, doesn’t get too cold (so the thing doesn’t freeze) and is isolated from the constant sound. Also the barrels are full of water, rocks and grit so they are a bit messy when you open them. Again the garage is the perfect place for me to do this on old pieces of cardboard that soak up the water when you take your stones out and switch up polishing grit from tumble to tumble. You will need a couple of small buckets to hold water needed to rinse the stones when you are checking them and moving them up to a finer grit for the next stage of polishing. You need to do this because YOU CANNOT DO THIS IN YOUR SINk without the stone grit slurry produced COMPLETELY PLUGGING yOUR PIPES! Do not put the slurry down your sink or flush it down say the toilet. It’s would be no different than pouring concrete down your pipes. Use a couple buckets to rinse your stones and hold all the slurry produced in the canisters by the tumbling. Then go dispose of the stuff properly. I’ve been using the stuff to fill some cracks in the driveway, pour it down some of my hollow metal fence posts like a cement. Anywhere but down the pipes! I have not done this but the directions warn of it and after using the unit for the last couple months can tell you the slurry is something that will harden into a cement like substance if it is left to settle. You have been warned. Oh and I’m writing all of this because the directions included are only ok.2- the canisters. They are rubber so do not rattle. This is a very good thing! They are as quiet as any design possible. The lids for the canisters are a bit tricky. A thin tin disk has a rubber gasket that fits over the disk and then is squeezed into the top rubber groove of the canister. The fit is tight and a very small blade screw driver has worked best for me in removing the lids from the canisters when needed. Once the rubberized disk/lid is secured in the top of the canisters a water tight seal is created to prevent the unit from leaking all over the place. There is a metal cap with a screw hole that you then put on top of the lid and tighten to secure the lid to the canister. It is a tight fit for obvious reasons and you have to be careful when you do this as you can easily tear the rubber seals. I have not done this yet but have been careful not to. A plasticButton screw holds the lid in place and acts as a turning gear when the canister is placed in the tumbler housing. We will see how tough the unit turns out to be but so far so good although it did take me while to figure out a safe way of removing and putting the lids back on the canisters.3- tumbling medium. - when the unit is shipped new both barrels are filled with a package of course corn grit used for first stage of polishing rough rocks. You need to order a grit kit that contains the different grits you need for all stages of polishing because none is included. I got a complete grit kit for about 25$ that should last for - few different complete runs.4- do not overfill or use too big of stones. If you do the canisters won’t tumble properly. They basically bog down the motor and you can hear the tumbler is straining. This happened to me once with some larger pieces that were of a heavier stone. I ended up simply having to tumble that canister on its own as a single unit for a few days until the stones inside were worn enough to tumble properly with two canisters in the unit. The Main thing to know is you need a mix of small Med and one inch stones in each canister for the cascading effect needed to polish the stones properly to work. The unit will work well as long as you load it correctly with the right materials.5- you need to burp the gas out of canisters every day or two at first. You also have to check the slurry consistency when you burp. Polishing is pretty easy but it does take maintenance every day or two as the process progresses. Just so you know.Hmmm. I think that is about it. If you are getting this for a kid know it’s not really a kids toy. It needs to be run properly so adults need to be a part of this for sure. Kids will have fun helping to clean the polished stones once you remove the kids for them at each stage but giving the unit to a child and thinking they will simply fill it with rocks water and some powder and volia’ polished stones, well it doesn’t work like that. FYI.ConclusionOverall the unit seems fairly industrial grade which I hope lasts a very long time. I am a bit worried as the motor has been under powered when I ran a couple of batches but I worked around this by only tumbling one canister of rough stones then once past the first rough stage of tumbling using both canisters when that happened. It’s only happened a couple times when I used more flat rough stones. If your stones are round to begin with you will have no problem. The unit has impressed meSo far. Figuring out how to use it is an adult activity in so much as the canisters sealing lids are delicate and tightly fitted. Once I got the hang of it and used the right very small flat head screw driver to pry the rubber disk seal out of the canister mouth when burping or loading it got easier. The process is a bit messy too and don’t forget about disposing of the slurry properly. Then let time work it’s magic and over the next few months you can polish with very good results. It takes about two to three weeks to see your results. Not a day or two. So kids learn patience as part of helping out with this hobby. Also the gift of time and how time and work can add up to something polished. It may be a rock they see right now but by the end they will see a result and that is a wonderful moment. Have fun. It’s been therapeutic for me sorting the stones and polishing with some very good results and some disappointments to be sure but none that were the machines fault. Good material brings good results. If you tumble crappy stones you will get poor results and the definition of crappy and good stones to polish you will figure out in time. I would buy this unit again at this point. It has to run constantly to work so I will update this review in a few months to see how the unit is holding up but for the first few weeks so far so good.
