I tested these with a magnet and they're 100% SS. Don't expect to use a 1/4" or 5/16" nut driver to tighten. The worm screw head is 7mm or 9/32". As long as you're prepared for that, these work great. I used these (5" size) to splice 4" corrugated drainage piping that is now buried. I cut a 6" length of the pipe, cut it open, and centered that over the joint, placing a clamp on each side of the joint over my homemade coupling. The stated 5-1/2" max opening is accurate, but the slats cut into the strapping cover 2/3rds of the strapping, so they should adjust to considerably smaller diameters vs the stated 4-1/2".

Arrived on time and was as expected. But 1 didn't have the screw so I'm not able to use it. There is no option to contact the seller and I've already used 2 pieces. The rest was good.
