This steel was the best value I found. I needed a solid piece of steel for mounting a reloading press and this worked perfectly. There was very little surface rust. The surface was quite smooth and required very little finishing. I softened the edges and corners with a file, wire brushed it, and have it a few coats of Rust-Oleum. My ours is now rock solid!

I have a "fully enclosed and roofed hunting blind" that sets up 10' off the ground. When I placed it about 8 yrs ago, I just set the legs on 4" solid concrete blocks, but the blocks have now yielded to the weight and cracked. Since the ground tends to be soft, especially in the spring the blind has settled and gotten off level. These steel plates will be used to fix the foundation. I'll raise each side, one at a time, remove the broken blocks, put down new 6" concrete blocks, then set one of these steel plates to give the block more strength.This hunting blind is used to control nuisance deer who eat the emerging buds at my blueberry fields in mid winter into spring, costing me thousands of dollars crop loss every year.

Cut some pieces of this steel plate to modify steering on a cub cadet mower (just a poor design) that was hard to steer. Extended the arm where the tie rod ball joints are attached. Drilling new holes in this steel seemed a little easier than drilling through the existing arm; so this is probably a little softer than a medium grade carbon steel. It's strong though, and was pretty resistant to my hacksaw and grind wheel. It's nice to be able to order this instead of running around trying find scrap metal.

I got this to put in back of bullet trap filled with rubber mulch. Lead is expensive and trap wasn't quiet long enough to catch lead ball from shotguns. The steel is thick enough, and mulch slowed slugs enough to catch and recast without ricochet or splash back hazard.

I use this as a diffuser plate for the gas range in the kitchen I work at. Works great for that, helps keep creams and thick sauces from burning easily. Thinking about getting another
