So far so good! I was given a Food Saver system for Christmas and really needed new bags, so I researched. I'm all about a bargin and for 2 huge rolls and 2 different sizes you can't beat the price. I used them last night and they seem to work just as well as the bags that came with the system. Idk yet how they hold up in the freezer, hence the 4 not 5 stars, but I'll update if anything goes wrong. The rolls came just wrapped in plastic, twice. No frills means no extra money just for a box I'm going to discard. Shipping was fast and I liked the little letter (email) received from the company.

I should probably give this product 4 1/2 stars because although they work perfectly well and the value was good, they were too big. Perhaps I didn't read the description well enough or my feeble brain didn't quite comprehend how BIG these rolls were. I feel kind of silly now that I think about it. After all, each roll is 50' long! Of course the rolls were going to be big. Now, there's nothing wrong with being big. It's just that they don't fit inside my Seal a Meal machine. They are so big that the unit will not close and I cannot leave the roll inside the machine. I easily got around the problem by leaving the lid open while pulling a piece through to cut and then I set the roll aside while sealing. I could probably pre-cut a bunch of bags and that would solve the problem too.Actually, now that I think about it, I'm really glad these rolls are big. I ran out of the smaller rolls really fast. The last thing you want to happen when you come home from a great day of fishing and start to seperate and bag up your catch, is to find only a 3" length of bag left on your roll. These rolls should last me a good long time. Yes, bigger is better. They deserve the full 5 stars.Update Added: The company that provides these amazing rolls of bags is outstanding! I'm thinking about seeking out their website to order more stuff from Houseables. Yes, I would give them 6 stars if I could!

We have ordered these bags numerous times and they are very good quality. The shipping from Amazon leaves a lot to be desired. At least put them in an envelope instead of sticking a label on the package. This order has a hole in the packaging. Since we will be putting food in them, they will be returned.

This Review Is For:Houseables Vacuum Sealer Bags, 8 Inch & 11 Inch Rolls=====================================================First Observations:As expected, the appearance and construction of these bags look identical to FoodSaver bags. They may be a bit thinner, or perhaps the plastic is just a little more pliable. I didn't care, as long as they worked.PERFORMANCE:I was pleased to find these vacuum sealer food rolls perform just like the name brand. They allow for adequate suction and they seal properly. And, my FoodSaver easily cut custom sized bags from the rolls. Two permanent markers were tested on the plastic and both performed as expected and did not smear immediately after using.HOW I USED (TESTED) THEM:The local grocery was offering outstanding prices on frozen turkeys just before Thanksgiving. So I bought two 18# turkeys so we'd have turkey to munch on for months to come. Cooked 'em, portioned them out and sealed multiple packets. Also made loads of gravy and broth, and sealed many pints and half-pints of those as well.For the gravy and broth, I measured the liquid and froze it in plastic cups; Then vacuum sealed the frozen liquid. The vacuum sealed packets were left on the counter until they turned to slush, when I flattened the packets and refroze them. That allowed for more efficient use of my small freezer.Also, freezing, thawing and placing pressure on the bags to flatten the frozen liquid was a very good test of the plastic bags. As described above, there were no problems, not with the meat or the liquids. Not one failed seal.VERDICT:I can't speak to other uses but if you need to package food for the freezer I can recommend these vacuum sealer bags and I'll be buying more because they met all my expectations.

These bags are quite satisfactory, they were competitively priced, and they came quickly and safely. The best part of this order was the email I received from the source, Houseables. Funciona muy bien con mi maquina de vacÃo, un poco delgado el material algunas veces se ha perforado con la manipulación, pero en general muy buen producto, empácanos carne cocinada y condimentada
