Quality of each bag is excellent. Our food has stayed for a year using our avid armor sealer and bags. I will continue to buy the avid armor bags as they never fail! Size perfect for our needs whether it’s one chicken breast, a pound of hamburger or a quart of stew. Will continue to purchase.

At this point, I've probably used a few thousand of these bags (various sizes). And I have yet to have one of them break on me. I've had a few that didn't get a proper seal because I had too much in the bag when vacuum sealing it, but I've had no issues with any that have been pulled from my freezer or used when cooking via Sous Vide. At first I was hesitant to get these bags because I had it in my mind that it was less expensive to get them in rolls, however, per use these are so much cheaper. And I don't have to seal two sides closed. And also, it was not uncommon for me to have issues with the channel type bags not keeping their seals. The confidence alone in knowing these will do their job makes them worth it. If you're looking for good chamber bags, this brand is it.

My first order of these 8x10 bags was dropped in the driveway by the delivery driver, spilled every where and was rejected owing to poor packaging by Amazon. Had to reorder, which took several days.To be candid, this size, 8x10" is not ideal for us or our Avid Armor USV32 chamber vacuum sealer . But it is all that is currently offered as the ideal and our preferred 11x13" bags are out of stock with no estimate of availability, if ever. A 11x16" textured bag is available but that is about 3" too long for our USV32.Though smaller, these composite nylon/PE bags are as sturdy and rugged as ever. It is just that they are not as roomy. So they are not as suitable when repacking items bought on sale, or in bulk for the freezer.Depending on the use, we often get multiple uses out of a bag by washing them. A bag will grow successively shorter over time, and in some cases will develop leaks due to excessive folding. When too short or when a leak develops only then are the bags discarded.Unfortunately owing to their composite construction, these bags are not recyclable in a standard PE bag recycle stream. We mitigate that by using and reusing them as much as possible before ultimately discarding them in the normal trash. This is no different from the fate of a FoodSaver bag, which has a similar composition, but is textured to allow for evacuation in that type of machine. We use the chamber vac system several times a day, every day. But we don't go through a lot of bags as I related above. Moreover, this type of sealer and the bags is very economical compared to the FoodSaver type system, once one is past the price premium difference in the basic machine. The chamber vacuum system works hands down better. Prior to obtaining an Avid Armor chamber vacuum, we were FoodSaver users for 20+ years. We will never go back to that system.

In this period of inflation, I was tempted to find a lower cost competitor but the difference in price was barely noticeable and I was at a disadvantage not having experience with another brand. I have been a loyal customer of Avid Armor because their products do what they are designed to do and the company stands by their product guarantee. So if this product is $2 or $3 more than an off-brand or generic competitor, I will gladly pay the difference resting in the sure knowledge that I am receiving the absolute best quality product that is DESIGNED for Avid Armor products.I cannot speak for customers that are looking for vacuum bags for a chamber vacuum sealer other than an Avid Armor product. Perhaps these bags will work exceedingly well with a chamber vacuum sealer of a different brand. But as an owner of an Avid Armor chamber vacuum sealer, I can attest to the overall quality. They stand the test of time. I frequently reheat sealed food in a simmering pot of water, but I will occasionally reheat in a microwave up to a point (3 minutes maximum). Your best bet is to use moist heat, such as a pot of boiling water or sous vide to reheat contents in the bag. A microwave may cause damage to the plastic, or the food may begin to steam and cause the bag to expand and cause alarm. And honestly.... any vacuum bag will do the same regardless of brand. As long as I own an Avid Armor chamber vacuum sealer, I will continue to order Avid Armor brand vacuum bags. Their guarantee ensures your satisfaction.
