I recently purchased the Heavy Duty Brass Shut Off Valve and I must say that I am extremely impressed with its performance. The valve is made of 100% solid brass materials, which makes it rustproof, sturdy and long-lasting. It is much more durable than other garden hose connectors I have used in the past.One of the best things about this product is that it doesn’t leak. The connectors and fittings are precisely processed and fitted with O-ring seals at the back and front to prevent any leaks. What’s more, you don’t need pliers to install it! Bought these to add a shut off upstream of my hose disconnects on the end of my expandable hose.Pressure in the hose was preventing release without purging all the water out, very annoying.Great price, local hardware store sells these for 10-15 a piece, here I get two with extra gaskets.Decent construction although threading on the male side is very short (3-4 threads only).There seem to be some small burrs on some of the surfaces particularly around the brass flats.Installed on my hose, first time I got a leak turns out that it was overtightened.Make sure when you install tighten it snug but not super tight or else you will crush the gasket, probably would have the same problem in any situation where the gasket is floating between two openings.Other than that they seem to work fine, I was able to cut off the water and disconnect my nozzle without any issues with the hose charged. It's nice to have a spare fitting and extra gaskets are handy. Can't comment on durability as I just put it on today but it's just a ball valve so unless the plastic knobs fall off I'm guess it'll be fine.

Nice quality, works well. Just a couple issues:1. The opening for water to go through is pretty small compared to the inside of a hose. Maybe only 1/4". So may cause some flow restriction.2. The valve is too close to the male threaded end, so screwing on my particular hose nozzle would stop before fully sealing because the nozzle contacted the valve.

I use one of these just before a quick disconnect for my hose in the shed. It allows me to switch between pressure washer, garden sprayer, and open hose without having to turn off the water or kink the house

Better than anything I’ve bought at HD.A bit stiff at first so I greased internal ball.Worked it some and been great since.No leaks.Does t break the handle etc if you drop it or reel up the hose.Fits well.Quite impressed actually.

I have 2 50ft hoses and I have to run back and forth to get the setting right for the sprinkler. I put this valve between the hoses and voila. No more running back and forth. It works beautifully. I saw many reviews that the valve was tough to turn. Initially this was true with mine as well. But once it was opened and closed a couple of times, there was no more issue. Came with extra washers too. Won't need those for a while. But this works great. Super price for 2 of them. 20 bucks.
