Works exactly like it is advertised and gave me a great proof reading. The plastic covers work as the cylinder for testing and is plastic to make it less likely to break. I see people here saying it doesn't have one but it does. I use it just fine. I hope that helps someone. The plastic graduated cylinder only measures to 160 Proof and is only 8 inches long. I had to buy another one for like 8 bucks to measure above 160 proof, which I need to do....

I gently placed it into my 3 month cider and was floating way above level, when I pulled it out the bottom was busted out and all the beads were now in the bottom of my jug. I quickly transferred into another container, hopefully they aren't toxic and ruin my brew I guess.

Seems to work as expected. Thought it said it was a kit, so expected it to come with a tube to put the spirits in, but maybe I read that wrong.

The item arrived in one piece. Well packaged for a thin wall glas tube. Seems to work fine. We make glogg each year for Christmas (a Swedish tradition) and like to test the proof of each batch. Mystery solved.
