This fit perfectly in my stainless steel sink, it keeps the water in the sink and with one quick push, lets the water drain. It catches all of the food and very easy to take out and empty out debris. It looks awesome and works great

Collects food and scraps. Protects my drain piping. Easy to use. Push down to seal sink to fill with water. Push again to open and let water drain out. Strainer pulls out easily to clean and empty.

Great for preventing small particles from going down drain. Have one in each sink. Works great!

They work fairly well. Sometimes it can let a little water leak when closed, but that hasn't been a big problem so far. I would buy again, also will recommend.

Was hoping this would fit the kitchen sink because numerous reviews and the product itself gave dimensions that were not that easy to measure in the sink as none of the dimensions seem accurate to what I had trying to be exact. However, it did fit and works great. (This may help someone decide - if the depressed outer ring in the sink has a diameter of 4.5" or slightly less it should fit.) I like the pop-up and push down feature to drain and fill. My other one you had to keep picking up and play with to get it to seal. It always seem the lift pin in the drain would also do the opposite and you would have to play with it.

I purchased the 2 unit strainer package for my double sink. One sink has the garbage disposal attached to it. The other sink has the standard drain. The worst issue is that the strainer baskets are too shallow. It requires emptying too many times. This causes problems as you don't want to have to empty this basket multiple times during your food preparation. In addition, it's not that easy to clean. We cook Chinese dishes and the foods we cook become stuck in the strainer basket. This includes rice, sprouts, any fibrous foods, leafy produce, and thinly sliced foods. Cleaning this strainer basket becomes more difficult and time consuming that it needs to be.The next issue is that the unit that I put into the standard size drain (no garbage disposal attached) leaks. It's a slow leak, but a leak nevertheless. I switched the units and the leak still occurs. There is no leak on the garbage disposal drain with either unit. One of the units is not opening when you press on it. It'll close without any problems, but when I try to open it, it's actually jammed. I must use force to push it down again. The unit is clean, it just won't open. I have discovered that the center prong becomes over-tightened. This prevents the basket from being fully depressed in order to open the plug. The prong that the the strainer basket is attached to will loosen and will actually unscrew itself from the unit. This product has great potential, but the current design isn't practical.

Loved these at first but after just 2 weeks, one broke and won't lock anymore. Bought the metal ones because they seemed very sturdy, but the top pieces that lock are plastic and that seems to be the problem for us. We got them in order to prevent insects from entering our basement apartment (yes, we've seen them come in that way), because we live in a building with a crazy septic system, centered in our apartment, where our pipes are connected to pipes in the apartments above us. Thus we get our neighbor's soap bubbles, and when their sinks are clogged with grease, their greasy water comes into our sinks --which fill up and floods our counter top, then spills all over our floor, according to the repairman. (The building was totally rehabbed so it's not very porous, therefore bugs go through the pipes because there are no openings in our walls.)With these drains, you have to remember to push them down first to unlock them before pulling them up, but people are used to lifting up drains to remove them and I think maybe one broke because someone kept forgetting to push down first to unlock it. Found another kind that functions the same way, only the top piece is all metal instead of plastic, so am hoping that will work better for us.
